Activity #279: Let baby feed herself

Yum spaghetti

AKA “Give your baby a tomato facial”

Go on, what are you afraid of? Let your baby really experience her dinner by getting all up in it.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t think I could have ever let Holden get this far into his food. Sure, I fed him on the floor and let him eat cottage cheese with his bare hands but this photo makes me really impressed with Mother Hoodwink for letting baby Boomba take it as far as he wanted to.

heather, i’m on the same page as you. lucas, at that age, was pretty tidy wtih his food, and still is. but i applaud moms who let their kids go crazy like this. hopefully the high chair is in the bathtub, or maybe she has a dog nearby to do the initial cleaning.

It was actually a lot easier to clean up than you would think. Baby wipes go a long way. Besides, Boomba went to the bath as soon as dinner was over so he was super easy to clean up. The hardest part was transporting him from his high chair to the bath without getting all messy myself.

Ahh! Ok maybe I could do it but not with red sauce :)

Excellent! Our little one looked just like that after feeding herself Spaghetti Bolognaise - after that is was a quick dunk in the bath to clean her up!

That’s a familiar face x2. I have 11 month old twins who love to scarf down pasta. And they like giving the floor a tomato facial too, which is not so good.
