Ever since being lucky enough to become a brand ambassador for Yummie Tummie, I’ve been hooked. I wear the tanks almost everywhere I go. But not with dresses. Once the leggings came out, my casual dress problem was licked too. Quite simply, these little numbers are the best around for smoothing out the lumps and bumps that baby-birthing or aging has given you. And yes, you will want to make out with these leggings.
We’re excited to offer a lucky reader a holiday present of a Yummie Tummie invisible slimming tank AND a set of the shaping leggings. (Approximate value $144!)
Enter to win! In the spirit of sharing, we want you to comment with a story about a time you really wish you were wearing shapewear (like that holiday party when everyone asked when I was due and I wasn’t pregnant!) -OR- a time you really wish you weren’t (like when I ripped my uncomfortable non-YT girdle-device off in the middle of my brother’s wedding reception). Comments close Dec. 15 and we’ll choose a winner. U.S. residents only.
++++
Disclosure: We are casual brand ambassadors for Yummie Tummie. One of Oprah’s favorite things is one of our favorite things too. We asked the super smooth women at YT for this great prize for our readers and they said Yes. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough for everyone in the studio audience. Wait. What?

i saw some pics of myself over thanksgiving and really wish i’d had some shapewear on that day!
I’m wishing I had some (comfortable) shapewear right now! Feeling a bit bulgy today.
We had family photos made over Thanksgiving….wish I had a pair of these on in the pictures!
Wishing i’d had them this summer when my husband and i went on vacation by ourselves. I was feeling pretty hot in a tight dress at a black jack table, when a man leaned over & asked me when i was due. *Burn*
seriously, when DON’T i wish i had shapewear? i’ve gained so much weight since i had my son and am always feeling my squishy stomach.
Last year on my birthday, I had just had my daughter a week before, and I still looked 6 months preggo!
I wish I had this shapewear every time I get dressed to leave the house. Seriously. My body has changed since having two daughters, and I just don’t feel comfortable anymore. I’d love to have this until I quit nursing; then, I’ll try to get back into shape.
I should probably not put this story on the internet, but my son was conceived on a night when I was wearing shapewear! I will always remember that one in particular!
Well, I’m due on Jan. 7th, so I will probably be wishing I’m wearing these like EVERY DAY after baby.
I went to a black tie wedding last Spring, and thought I looked pretty hot in my shimmery black cocktail dress, but whenever I see photos of myself where you can see the tummy bulge, including belly button, through the dress, I am mortified and wish for good shapewear.
I wish I had it all summer long, thanks to the combination of thin, clingy clothes and my post-C section lumpy stomach!
I wish for shapewear pretty much everyday. Especially for holiday pictures!
I am making progress with the post baby weight but… I would love shapewear that worked and didn’t make me miserable the whole time I was wearing it.
I wish I had shapewear all the time! Especially after the guy at the store asked me when I when I was due… 2 YEARS AFTER my son was born!
I was looking at some pictures and it looked like I had a baby bump when in fact I had my baby a year ago – sigh. I can’t seem to get rid of the post-partum belly. Sometimes it’s just easier (and more comfortable) to continue wearing my maternity jeans.
Really, when do I not want to wear shapewear. I would have really like to be wearing a pair when I accidentally ran into my ex boyfriend on BAR. And had my eyebrows waxed too…
Thanks Rookie ladies for being awesome! We are huge fans of you ladies at Modern Kiddo!
I went to a wedding over Labor Day weekend, thought I looked great…and then I saw the pictures. Ouch. Really wish I’d had some shapewear that day!!
I can’t really think of a specific time when I wanted to be wearing shapewear — how about all the time post partum? But I remember being at a Christmas event 2 years ago when my daughter was about 10 weeks old, and someone asked me when I was due. I’m like I JUST HAD A BABY. So uh, yeah. I guess that qualifies?
I’m not sure if shapeware would have solved it, but maybe – I’m tall with a decent bosom, and when a friend asked for bridesmaid dress suggestions, I said anything but an empire waist. So she got empire waist dresses that only came in petite. I had no sympathy when she mourned that she couldn’t use the wedding party pictures because I looked seven months pregnant. I was not. At all. Maybe something to tuck in all would have helped?
[...] Rockin’ shapewear from Yummie Tummie (tank + leggings). Tell us a “once upon a shapewear story” (details in the post if you don’t know what I’m talking about) in the comments until Dec. 15. U.S. residents only please. [...]
Right after I had my little one, we had to buy me new clothes. Prepregnancy clothes were too small, pregnancy clothes were too summery for the turn of cold weather. I put on my new clothes and I had back lumps. Yucky, untoned back lumps. There was nothing I could do about it, so I just wore it. but, I really need some shapewear so that I can look pretty again
I’ll work out as soon as my little girl lets me!
Times I wish I was wearing shapewear – when I wore a dress that was 3 sizes too small and had back fat… and the story has lived on for 15 years.
I wish I had been wearing one this Thanksgiving – it was my little guys first so there were lots of pictures and they were not the most flattering of me and my left over baby bumps.
I thought I was looking pretty good post baby 11 months ago… until I saw a photo, and I looked pregnant. WTF… *sigh* seriously… and then I had a funeral to go to and not a dress that fit… Of course the hubby said I looked fine, which soo was not true.
Our family photo (5 months postpartum)..I thought I was looking hot, but I ended up having to photoshop out a muffin top.
Wish I would have had these!
I really wished I had a Yummie Tummie tank when we were on vacation with my ILs and my SIL was rocking her bikini about 4 months postpartum and I was still sporting about 5 pounds of baby weight 8 months postpartum and all of it on my tummy. boo.
Similar wish-I-wasn’t story to yours, actually: wore a girdle-type thing (like bike short that go up to your ribcage) when I was my mom’s maid of honor. The ceremony was on a hilltop and the wedding party had to walk up the path in full view of all the guests. My shapewear thing started rolling down as I started walking, so I had a kind of roll around my hips by the time we got to the actual ceremony site. And of course, being outside, there was nowhere for me to pop into to fix it. I just had to hope everyone was looking only at the bride!
I wish I was wearing shapewear 7 weeks after my first baby was born. I was in a wedding. While standing on stage during a rehearsal the bride’s brother turned to me and whispered, “So, when are you having that baby?”. I turned bright red and replied, “She’s right over there. She’s already been born.” Ugh. I don’t know who was more embarrassed!
My brothers wedding. In order to get into the dress I was bound into the worst underwear that went from my armpits to my knees. It did not suck in the fat as much as crush my internal organs and every time I needed to nurse I had to get fully undressed.
I wish i had this 2 months ago, when I had not yet announced my pregnancy at work, and had just enough puff around my waist to raise a few eyebrows!
Wish I had them at my friend’s wedding where I was wearing a bridesmaid dress that was not so flattering.
Wish I had something to control my post-prego tummy just today! I went to a party today and felt so frumpy… everyone else looked so cute and happy while I was over here trying to look cute with a bulky sweater that I really didn’t want to wear just to hide my rolls
Helped me hid my post baby tummy months after she was born. And helped me feel much better about my new body and allowed me to fit into my old clothes better too.
I wish I had shapewear every day but specially on any occasion that I have to pose for photos. The last 20 pregnancy pounds are being stubborn and I’m limited as to what clothes look good so I’m at a loss on what to wear for when we go to take our family portraits.
I’ll be wishing I had better shapewear tonight at an office party. I’ve tried many different “versions” lately – but not yet Yummie Tummie! So far, it just, ah…redistributes the wobbly bits.
I just had holiday pics done and after seeing them (which they were awesome of my hubby and 2 boys) I wish I would have had on some shapewear to make myself look better! These kiddos have really jacked up my tummy!!
The first time I ever bought shapeware it was a strapless bra/tummy hider combo thing. Wore it to my senior prom (not that I needed it then, in hindsight. What was I thinking?), tried dancing one dance in it, and immediately went to the bathroom and took the thing off and threw it in the trash.
About one year post-partum, I had an interview for my dream job. On a pre-interview tour of the facility, the person giving the tour asked when I was due. What a blow to my self-esteem, only ten minutes before my interview!
I wish I had shapewear when I went jeans shopping last week! Muffintop is so depressing.
9 months after I had my first baby, I started aerobics and the instructor asked if I was pregnant. A week after having my second baby, a store clerk asked if it was a boy or girl. I needed those body shapes!
Once a supporting wire came poking out of my shapewear and into my skin…yikes…another one bites the dust.
I pretty much always think I’d look better with some shapewear.
Looking back at pictures taken a year or two after my first daughter was born, I wish I had worn some shapewear then.
I have wished I had some yummie tummy gear on multiple occassions:
1-My bro in laws wedding a week after I had my baby. (incosiderate planning , huh!
2-At my husbands holiday work party. Well maybe that would have been hard to nurse in…
3-When I went back to work and my legging/jeans zipper broke so it looked like my pants were undone!
I hope rookieclause brings me some YT’s, I’ve been a good dirl this year, I promise
When I was teaching a singing lesson and the parent of my student congratulated me on being pregnant. Okay….um, not pregnant, but thanks for letting me know I need to get back in the gym. Ouch!
Oh boy…work event 9 weeks after baby. Getting out of my tank and stretchy pants was difficult enough but then I decided to wear these huge stretchy undies. Yikes. Went home early just so I could breathe.
Um … how about now – almost 2 years after I had my son and I’m still wearing maternity tops to hide the places where things have settled! But then I still look pregnant – oh what to do!?!?
I wore a girdle type thing during high school prom and it was so uncomfortable that I ended up disrobing in the bathroom and shoving that darn thing in my purse.
anytime i am wearing shapewear i wish i was not…because they are so uncomfortable and annoying! And the fact that the whole reason i am wearing them is because i have no shape! I would love some yummie tummie products and i bet they are sooo much more comfy than the cheepo stuff i have now!
I was wearing “modified” shape wear (control topped hose with the legs cut off) to a beach wedding. I couldn’t handle the pinching, binding and shortness of breath so I went out to the parking lot to take them off and throw them in my car. As I was struggling to pull them off a breeze blew up my dress and threw my shape wear under a nearby car. I quickly pulled down my dress, only to discover I had mooned a bunch of groomsmen. I left the discarded hose under the car with as much dignity as I could and went back to the wedding.
