Hiya! In honor of worldwide de-lurking day, we invite you to leave a comment. Say hi. Tell us who you are, what you like, what you hate (as long as you have manners, we can take it). In the meantime, we’ll be out there visiting other folks’ sites and commenting our own fingers off.

Hello mamas! I am a lurker and decided to out myself. I
*love* your book and blog. I purchased the book just before I had
my son in October 2008, and discovered your blog just after I had
my daughter in August 2010. I love your ideas for getting out and
about with a baby, and your insights and ideas for toddlers. I read
you every single day and think that you have some of the freshest
and sweetest mama voices on the web. Have a great Friday!
Hi guys! I might as well delurk myself. I’m a soon to be
rookie mom, due in about 30 days with a little girl, Lila Caroline.
I love your gift guides and I’m sure you all will be a great help
after my baby arrives. I have a pregnancy/baby blog that I’ve been
trying to keep up with. Hopefully I can still find time to
post!
Hiya right back! My name is Kristen and I’ve been a Rookie Mom since March 27th. I stumbled upon the blog prior to that date when I was searching for Top Must Have baby items…so thanks for your lists! Have a great day.
Hey there! I’m Carol and I like to be lazy. Seriously! Anyways, I do lurk around blogs in ways to find tricks and hacks on everyday life of a Mom – so I can be lazy. I do love the tips you have here. It helped me a lot. I’m trying to make the DIY toy kitchen a reality for my kid but I’m still on the planning stage. All the best! xx
Hello! Delurking here. I’m Sarah and I’ve been a Rookie Mom wince March 30th. Thanks for writing!
Not really a lurker, but commenting anyway
What would be AWESOME on your site is a comprehensive list of posts when you click on a category. Archives?
Hi! My name is Caroline. I’ve been reading Rookie Moms for about a year or so now. I have a 2 1/2 year old boy, and soon to be a mom to a baby girl. I’m an only child, as is my husband, so this whole sibling thing is going to be a learning experience for everyone! Eep!
Thanks for a great hints, tips, and activities you post here, you folks are great. Probably shoulda told you that by now
Good morning! I love your blog, I’ve been reading since
shortly before my rookie baby was born this past July. And,
confession, I thought about you this morning when I was using
shampoo for the fifth day in a row
Rookie mom since June 2nd…I receive your posts in my reader so I do a LOT of lurking!
I’m a lurker!
Lol, I try to read as much as I can, but often don’t have time to comment. I have a 2 year old and work full time in Microbiology at University of Wisconsin Madison. I try to do lots of activities w/ him for learning letters, numbers ect. Keeps me busy!
Hello! I love the idea of getting people to comment today.
I’m about to write my own post on delurking.
Hi! What a fun idea! I’ve commented a few times, but I thought I’d say hello anyway. I started reading Rookie Moms a few months after my son was born. He’s almost 20 months old now, but I still have it in my Reader and learn new stuff all the time!
Okay, okay, you caught me. I’m a lurker. But I am not a rookie mom. I am Deanna, mother to five kids ages 3, 8, 12, 14, & 18. My youngest is my only boy so I am a rookie in that respect. I love the site, read it in my Google reader every day!
I’m a lurker.
I really like the Fearless Friday posts…as well as the Rookie Mom challenges. I haven’t done them yet, but I am going to!
For some reason, this is the blog I seem to lurk on, while I have no problem commenting on sites like Amalah and Alpha Mom. Why? I have no idea.
I’m due in 5 (!!) days with my first baby, though as a pediatrician I’m not completely clueless, just filled with theories that were crammed into my head during training and are likely useless.
I’m a blogger as well, though I blog about beauty. I’m hoping that becoming a mom helps me a bit with my high maintenance tendencies!
I love the tips and hints you have given over time. I’m hoping that it helps me get through my own rookie year!
LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!!
not sure if i’ve posted here or not!! but here i am
Hiya
I’m probably rare in your readership in that I am not a mom, and won’t be for quite awhile yet (god willing). I’m a grad student in library science. I discovered you through a 101cookbooks.com crossover, and the feeling like an anthropologist and or looking round a corner towards a future stage in my life, plus your great and engaging writing style has kept me coming back.
It’s true. I am a lurker. I am always lurking about for ideas that will keep me sane and I sometimes find a few here.
LOVE THIS! If only lurkers knew how happy they could make you with just one measly comment. I’ve been thinking about using a copy and paste tool box for lazy lurkers, to try to encourage them to leave comments, like:
“ha!”
“OMG!”
“TOTALLY”
“I disagree.”
“LOL”
“disappointing post”
“needs editing”
“ROTF, LMFAO”
“I never knew that!”
etc, etc, etc…
Ha! Totally lurking. I have 9 more days before my first baby is officially due. This site has been fun over the last couple of months and I’m very much looking forward to visits in the future as an official rookie mom.
sooo yup im a lurker i guess.. though why its called so i dont know! whats wrong with just reading something and going on your way? not everyone always has to insert their opinions!

but i concede it must be nice to get feedback!
love the blog n keep it up!!
I was definitely lurking! I love this blog, even though I’m not a mom (and am not planning to be one for several years). I live in Oakland with my boyfriend (of almost 6 years), and I just enjoy this blog!
Every time I read your blog I completely relate. I was just reading the shampoo and soap one and totally agreeing. We only use shampoo on our toddler once a week and only soap on the hands when needed. The best thing I have done is given up the everyday bath. Anyway, thank you for all your funny and thoughtful posts. They brighten my day.
@LauraC, look over to the right in the middle column, just next to your comment, see the archives?
@everyone, thanks, I needed that!
I actually just found your website today!
[...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Rookie Moms, Moms Who Blog. Moms Who Blog said: Excuse me, are you lurking? http://dlvr.it/DKbww [...]
De-lurking to say hi! I’ve been reading for about a year now and was inspired to start blogging, myself! I find so many great ideas here (and some not so great) that I can’t help but check in every day to see if there’s anything new!
Not a lurker, just a Rookie Mom. And a Rookie Mom fan.
Keep it up, ladies!
Hi, de-lurking. I’ve been reading your blog since last summer, I’ve been a rookie mom since November. I like your style and found your list of registry essentials especially helpful.
A suggestion for a post -I was just thinking yesterday when my 2 mo old was sick and I had to call my friends husband to go to the store for me, that a list of products to have on hand in case your kid gets sick would be handy.
Howdy from Texas! I love y’all and appreciate all the hard work you put into sharing ideas. I’ve been a Rookie Mom since January 2010.
i found you guys last year when i had my one and only baby boy. thanks for the ideas and encouragement and laughter. i made it through the first year! woohoo!
I love this anti-lurking day thing! I didn’t even know it existed, but it’s a great way to make people like me comment
I must confess I’m more of a taker when it comes to the internet. My husband and I are having baby # 1 in April, but I have been planning/subscribing for over a year! My favorite thing was the post about clutter free gift ideas… friends DON’T give friends lotion! I appreciate that y’all are up front about when people pay you to post (advertisers), but you aren’t slaves to them (you actually post about things you like, even if you didn’t get paid). I’m sorry, I can’t really think of constructive criticism right now. Maybe I will have something next January
Here
if I comment after De-Lurking Day, is that OK? I mean come on, as a mom of a baby and a toddler, I’m always about 2 days behind on everything… : )
I’m lurking! I’m a new mom (as of April) and recently was told about your blog. I am excited to start reading it!
Does it count as lurking if you follow the blog? What about if you’ve commented in the past? Love the blog though! Keep ‘em coming!
Might as well out myself too…l have been lurking on your site for a few weeks since my baby girl came home from the hospital. Since my daughter was a preemie and it’s cold/ flu season, I am forbidden to take her out of the house so checking in with your blog every day gives me some connection to other new moms. Keep up the good work.
