The coolest thing I've ever seen in a child's room -- or any room

On a tour of a “smart cottage”, a house that had been upgraded by the folks at Sunset magazine to incorporate technology that makes home life just a little bit more lovely.

Amazon’s Alexa was there, of course, along with smart lightbulbs that can be adjusted with voice command, but the thing that most captured my attention was this wall frame by Meural.

I’ve had digital frames in my house before and gifted them to grandparents in the era before grandparents had their own smart phones packed with digital images. They allowed us to email images to a certain address and the frames would magically update with photos.

The Meural is more about art, however. The gallery-style frame and the matte display do not glow with that screenÂ vibe that most digital products have. I love that owners have access to thousands of pieces of art, so it can be used to display favorite works in a room, but changed on a whim. Heather was smitten with displaying all her preschooler’s artwork (while simultaneously recycling all her preschooler’s artwork!).

Curate your favorite images, from the Meural library or your own collection, and move your hand in a swiping motion in front of the frame to choose something new.

In the smart nursery I toured, the frame looked beautiful with the birch-colored frame, but it comes in white and black, too.
