The Best Triple Stroller [for Triplets or Tots Close in Age!]

So yeah, you never thought there would be a day you’d be searching out the best triple stroller, but luckily, here we all are together! Don’t fret we are here to help with all your stroller needs. We’ve got a list of the best options, from easiest to clean when you thought your kiddo could handle their own fruit pouch to what will help you maneuver your way through a crowd clipping the least amount of ankles possible.

The greatest thing about investing in a triple stroller is that it will make it easy to have all 3 of your kids in one place, which is incredibly convenient. While a triple stroller is a must-have for parents of triplets, don’t be fooled that it’s only for them. They can also be lifesavers for anyone who has 3 children close in age!

The Best Triple Stroller Options on the Market

As you probably already assumed the need for triple strollers is somewhat limited so the choices are limited as well. That said I think you will find there are some pretty awesome triple strollers in the mix.

Things to Think About When Choosing a Triple Stroller

The most important thing you have to think about when choosing a triple stroller is what type of seating arrangement that best fits your family. This usually comes down to what age your little ones are. Just like with double strollers, you will have some options; tandem, side by side, triple umbrella stroller, sit-and-stand, triple jogger stroller, and some downright funky arrangements. We’ve broken down these categories clearly for you below to make shopping easy!

Tandem Strollers

Peg Perego Triple Stroller- see the full list of strollers on www.RookieMoms.com

The Triplette Piroet Tandem Stroller by Peg Perego

Pros- This Peg Perego Triple Stroller can hold 3 infant car seats, making it an amazing choice for parents of triplets. The seats also fully recline and offer each child their footrests. You can face seats on this triplet stroller both forward and backward which is convenient for different scenarios and great for bonding.

Cons- This triple stroller is seriously long, making it hard to maneuver. It basically has a steering wheel for a handle. This being said I would only consider if you have triplets or three babies very close in age. In which case the fact that it will hold all three car seats may make it worthwhile.

Foundations triple stroller

Foundations Trio Sport 3-Seat Tandem Stroller

Pros- Many moms say this stroller is less bulky than they imagined a triple stroller would be. The bright orange, red, and green color options are fun and make it easy to spot your stroller from anywhere. I also really appreciate that each seat has an individual canopy to block out sunlight.

Cons- Newborns do not fit well in the seats.

Sit and Stand Options for Triple Strollers

Joovy Big Caboose Triple Stroller

Joovy Big Caboose Triple Stroller

Pros- It’s on sale right now on Amazon, so go go go! This stroller is functional for kids of all ages and also works great for daycare providers. The back platform allows for sitting and the two real seats both can hold a car seat. Woot Woot!

Cons- It is pretty long, so be prepared that maneuvering can be tricky. But, at least not as tricky as a full triple tandem stroller.

UPPAbaby Vista + Piggyback

Pros- The UPPAbaby Vista is a great choice for young families because it can convert from a single to a double and then with the addition of the piggyback board it can become a triple stroller. It is also great for those who have older triplets, an older child + twins or three kids close in age. Basically, it’s a double stroller with the option to buy a connecting board. It drives well, is pretty lightweight, and can be stored as if it were a double stroller.

Cons- No space to sit for the child on the riding board. It’s also on the pricier side (but worth it!).

Mountain Buggy Free Rider and Compatible Double Stroller

Pros- It’s literally a scooter attachment for your stroller, which your kiddo will probably love. The big difference is, you get to have full control which you wouldn’t have if they were on a separate scooter.

Cons- Your kiddo will need to be 4+ and have a good idea of the concept of riding a scooter to avoid any booboos.

Other Triple Stroller Arrangements

Aspire Twin Buggy + Solo Accessory.

Triple Adventure Buggy Co. Aspire Twin Buggy + Solo Attachment

Pros- This stroller had the absolute coolest design. The bottom is like your typical side-by-side double stroller, but they’ve added a third seat that sits on top. All the seats recline. The front wheels can swivel or be locked, which is great for different terrains. The top seat is facing towards the parent pushing making it perfect for families with two toddler twins + a new baby. This option is dynamic, easily switch from 2 to up to 4 seats all capable of holding newborns to toddlers. So, parents of double twin sets listen up! Plus, it folds with a single button.

Cons- While the top kiddo gets a lot of attention, it’s hard to see what the bottom two are doing.

Valco Baby X + Toddler X

Valco Baby Tri Mode Duo X + Toddler Seat X

Pros- This all-terrain stroller is another great option. It would work for families with triplets but probably best serves twins + 1 or three kiddos close in age. The toddler seat is an additional attachment so the stroller can grow with you as your family grows and Valco Baby strollers are very durable so it will last long enough to do that as well.

Cons- The toddler seat does not come with a canopy, however, you do have the ability to purchase one if you so choose. The toddler seat is only for babies 6+ months old.

Radioflyer Wagon

The Radio Flyer Triple Play Wagon

Pros- This option is a little different and it’s not for everyone, but if you’re just going around your neighborhood a wagon might work pretty well for you. There are three seats, cup holders, and an ice pack attachment for the back (hey farmers markets!).

Cons- This is only a good option for those of you with 3 toddlers. They aren’t built to last for more than a year or so depending on wear and tear.

So, now you see that there are some great options out there if you are in the market for a triple stroller! You just have to decide what configuration fits your family best whether it be the traditional tandem or something more unique like a double stroller paired with a ride board. We hope our list has helped you narrow down what might be best for your family!
