This box is full of toys made specifically for your 1 year olds developmental age. It will help with build fine motor skills and teach them about spatial relationships.
Cars are a great toy to play with on the floor or while out and about, especially when waiting for dinner to arrive or the light to change while in the car. This set of 4 cars are sized to be easy to handle with small hands. Each features bright colors. Plus, these durable cars are easy to add to a diaper bag and bring on the go with you always.
To keep those little hands busy, try this busy gears board. It’s perfect for floor and table play with movable gears and stackable pieces. This toy lets your child use her creativity and explore the lights and sounds while learning logic, problem-solving, and puzzles.
Another great beginner puzzle is this farm animal board. There are five farm animal pieces that fit into the barn-themed base. When your 1 year old girl places the animal correctly the board will name that animal, make the sound of that animal, and place a song!
This toy takes the classic baby toy, stacking rings, and puts a modern spin on it by making all the pieces plush and textured. This is a great interactive toy that your 1 year old can stack or enjoy each piece individually. Some pieces rattle squeak, or crinkle, and the fabric has a variety of textures.
Your little one can have their very own tent AND ball pit for indoor and outdoor play! It is quick and easy to assemble and your 1 year old will love being able to crawl in and out.
Stacking cups are a great early childhood toy, as 1 year olds love to move toys and explore all sorts of things. These stacking cups have an under the sea theme with different animal shapes around the rim. Your little one can use this toy in the bath as well as during playtime, making them multi-purpose and twice as fun.
Every little girl needs her own horsey to ride! This Pottery Barn rocking horse is one of my favorites on the market. It is small making it easy for your one year old to get on and off. They’ve also got a selection of other animals if you’d like something more unique!
Toys That Encourage New Skills Like Music, Walking, and More
This toy is a great learning tool, as the simple structure, lights, and sounds work to help your child learn letters, numbers, and fun songs. The toy is shaped like a turtle with buttons throughout the shell. The top of the shell displays letters and numbers with lights around the outer edge and buttons on the turtle’s feet. This is an easily portable toy that’s great for entertaining and teaching.
Another great toy that elevates a classic staple is this “moosical” cow. The base of the toy is a stuffed cow and attached to the cow is a ring or musical buttons, or beads, that light up and teach letters and numbers. There’s also a variety of phrases, songs, and melodies to entertain and engage with your 1 year old.
This activity bugs toy is a great self-contained floor toy. There are four bugs, each brightly colored, in a row. Baby can press the bug down to hear a unique sound. In front of each bug is a switch or button to further engage your baby, teach problem-solving, cause and effect, and work on motor skills.
Every side of this cube offers something unique and interesting from flashing buttons to sliders, spinners, and sounds, this activity cube is endlessly entertaining. As another toy with no detachable pieces this is a great toy for entertaining your 1 year old whether you’re waiting in line, in the car, or at dinner.
This toy takes the classic rattle and puts a fun musical spin on it. There are two maracas per package which make for double the fun. Each maraca has a plastic handle with a shaker window in the bottom. Each top is a brightly colored fabric to add a contrasting texture.
Soft cloth books are a great introduction to reading. Plus, with these, you don’t have to worry about your 1 year old ripping the pages. These brightly colored soft, squishy books are a great addition to any toy box. Each book is educational from numbers to animals and fruits. It’s easy to keep one in a diaper bag or go bag, anywhere a book may be useful.
Another educational toy is this puppy. The body is plastic with a fun puppy theme. There are several buttons with numbers for learning and it includes 20 songs that play when the puppy is pulled around by his string. This is a fun floor toy as the puppy is low to the ground and easy to move from a sitting or standing position.
If your one year old girl has made the leap to sleeping in her own room overnight, she will love having a Twilight Buddies Elephant in her room! It is like a night light, but better.
This is the best toy for one year old girls to have around when your baby is learning to walk. It will help her build confidence and get used to the motion of walking while having the sturdy walker for support.
We are all about STEM toys, and there is no such thing as starting too early! This simple stacking toy will be perfect for your one year old and easy enough for her to figure it out all on her own.
It is always funny to me how easy it is to entertain little ones. They seem to think the more simple the better! The Dimpl is a great example of this as it is just five silicone bubbles they can pop in and out.
Best Toys for One Year Old Girls That Encourage Imaginative Play
This is definitely one of the best toys for 1 year old girls as all our little testers seemed to love it. Many little girls like to play pretend and dress up, and this party playset is a great beginner toy. This toy has a pink tray where the cups, snacks, and teapot set. When your little one tips the pitcher to pretend to pour lemonade it will sing a variety of songs.
Another way little girls like to play pretend is with baby dolls. This doll is soft and cuddly, much like stuffed animals and teddy bears. She comes with a magnetic pacifier and a removable fabric outfit and a diaper. This is a fun introduction to playing with dolls for a 1 year old who shows interest.
Your little girl is still far too young to help you in the kitchen, but that doesn’t mean she can’t have her own adorable apron!
