This weekend I’m putting on my travel writer hat and heading to L.A. for a jam-packed tour of various Disney-related things.
While I don’t feel bad about seeing the movie Brave without my children (I’ll be attending a screening of it), I do feel bad about taking a tour of the new Cars Land feature at Disney California Adventure Park.
Stay tuned… when I return, I will share Disney tips for folks with infants and opine on whether or not Brave is a good fit for little ones or should be saved for the grade school years.
In case you’re wondering, although Heather and I do both live just a few miles from Pixar, the Brave characters Merida and Elinor (below) were not based on us, despite a strong resemblance.

EPIC photo ladies!
That photo is MORE than amazing. I love it! Can’t wait to meet you. Just a few more days!
1. Now that I’ve studied the picture as much as you, I’d like to change my wardrobe.
2. My kids and husband didn’t even recognize YOU, Whitney.
I can’t wait for your reports on both – my 4yo really wants to see Brave but I’m a bit hesitant and we’re hoping to hit Disney (primarily so said Cars-obsessed 4yo can experience the new Cars Land) for the first time this summer. Great photo, too
@Heather, I think it’s the lack of glasses. Seeing me without them can surprise small children and husbands.
@Becky, good to know! It is more rewarding to write when I know that folks are actually interested in the topic!
Fantastical photo, ladies. I’ve thought of Heather more than once when I run across the Brave promos but I think this is the first time I’ve seen her mom. Not that you look like you could be Heather’s mom… Oh, I’ll just zip it now.
That photo is awesome!
ha ha ha! Love the photo! I’m excited to hear your Brave review.
Our oldest still hasn’t been to a theater, and we’re thinking Brave might be the one to try. She’s almost 5.
I didn’t recognize you either! That is so classic — you two are awesome. Hope you had a great time!
