I buy Apple/Carrot Crushers from Trader Joe’s on a regular basis. The format is like the other products you see above, and my kids love it.
When I went to the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco with my mom last month, I saw a bunch more squeezable items and thought the new baby food packaging was pretty cool. I never felt great about throwing a glass jar of baby food into my diaper bag — a pouch seems safer for transport.
Note that a couple of the items above have really big caps. That’s because the manufacturers are meeting the guidelines for safety re: choking.

(I love this packaging from Revolution Food.)
So what do you think? Weird? Yum?

I wish yogourt and pudding came in these. Best things to pack along for my 2 year old. Plus no spoons or mess. I can’t wait until there is more that fruit and vegetable purees in this packaging
Tiffany I prefer the Sili Squeeze for the little ones I use the Potes for me with yogurt on the run. The Silis do not leak.
Love the idea to REFILL the pouches. I’ve done it with turkey baster, but it doesn’t work great. Gonna try Matt’s ketchup bottle idea – Thanks!
Anyone tried making a homemade version? I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I just realized I could do it with Ziploc bag and a cake decorating tip. Am I crazy???
You should try this product called the Sili Squeeze. It’s awesome. It allows you to make homemade purees and put them into a reusable cute little silicone squeeze. You can purchase them with a resistance valve, or no resistance for older squeezers. http://www.theilico.com.
@Shirly, I’d be interested to hear if you had success with this. Your idea sounds too chokable to me though.
@RookieMom Heather
The ziploc idea did seem too scary. Knowing how curious toddlers are about these things, I was sure DD would tear it apart and make a mess that I didn’t want to deal with…
Instead I bought some cheap (Take & Toss) straw cups and made smoothies for the whole family almost everyday. Soon she figured out how to take the straw out and make a mess, so I started putting a rubberband on the straw (under the lid) so it won’t come out.
Shirley the elastic under the lid doesn’t really seem vary safe either very easy for it to slide off and up the straw. You can buy great cups at old navy or homesence with reusable straws that can’t come out of the cup
