On being alone, even though you are probably not alone

I saw this video “How to Be Alone” on my friend Andrea‘s blog and it stuck with me. I like the style and the tone, so there’s that.  But mostly I wanted to share it because I believe loneliness is the aspect of new motherhood that is most surprising. Do you agree?

I thought some of you might enjoy the piece and the encouragement it provides. I’d guess that we all interpret it in our own way.

I don’t know how you do it – really, it’s like you’re reading my mind. Or I guess, mothers just have a lot in common. Thank You!!

Totally gorgeous and inspiring. I feel a bit more empowered to let quiet moments just be.

That was beautiful and so touching, i wish it I could go back and show it to myself when I was 18, and out on my own for the first time….it would have made life so much easier to understand.

I love the video. I am lucky enough to have my husband home with me & baby most days, so this applies more to the “single life” I led before. I can totally relate that in the moment the loneliness of solitude can be almost incapacitating. Very uplifting & encouraging – you are NOT alone, at least not in your experience!
