This sounds like a self-help suggestion, but it’s actually really fun and the best part is trading your list with your friends and/or spouse if you can convince them to do it.
Heather challenged me to do make a list of 50 things I like to do, and then she went all over-achiever on my ass and came up with more than 100. This month when she was trying to figure out what to do on her birthday, it was exactly her flavor of a geeky challenge to see how many of her favorite things could be packed into one day.
An excerpt of my list:
have adult slumber parties at Tahoe cabins
be complimented at work for my ideas
buy craft supplies
buy food at Monterey Market for Julian
check the mail
cross country ski when it’s sunny
design things
discuss things with Ryan
eat fish tacos and have pina colada at Picante on Friday night
eat soft chocolate chip cookies
fall asleep on couch
get 10K steps in one day
get pedicure
give handmade gifts
What’s on your list? Post an excerpt of your list (or the whole thing!) and comment with the link.
Let doing these things more frequently be a recipe for “you 2.0″. (Thanks to Kammie for the expression).

[...] After a shopping expedition sponsored by my mom, I’m back on track and encourage you to try it, too. Given that cropped pants appear to be so popular that they are being worn with sandals, pumps and boots, featured on the red carpet, and have a whole category devoted to them on Anthropologie.com and Abercrombie & Fitch, they were my most recent purchase. I have received several compliments at work on these, and receiving compliments at work is on my list of 50 things I like to do. [...]
Dig the list and glad you dig “you 2.0″. Sometimes I get rambling and never know what’s gonna come out or who it’s gonna make sense to!

I am trying to figure out what things I like to do. I am starting a new life with my son since my husband left and as of right now I have not really done much for myself besides make sure my house is clean (that is the only one I have right now). I love spending time with my son and besides work that is my complete life right now. So I could really use some help on how to get started discovering what things I like to do on the occasional evening when my son is at a friends house or something. Any advice would really be appreciated.
Aw, Tabitha, you are taking steps to a new start! Figuring out what you like to do sounds like a well-timed exercise. Maybe browsing in a bookstore will help you figure out what topics you’re most interested in.
