Activity #278: Document baby’s birthplace

I love L.A. I’m sending you on a scavenger hunt as your activity for the day.

Take a picture of your baby that captures the essence of the city or town in which she was born. Maybe a famous landmark is in the background, or maybe she’s sitting on the shoulders of a local celebrity.

So far we have a picture that captures San Francisco, and the one to the left here that shows Julian basking in the L.A. sun with palm trees in the distance. I’m still working on a concept for Berkeley.

Photojojo has some great tips for photographing in and around your city. So, get outside and do it!

Show us what you’ve got by posting your link to your baby’s birthplace photo or adding rookiemoms to your flickr tags.

Right… your baby was born in Berkeley. Does the Cal Bear mascot have any plans next week for a photo op? What about Julian sitting in the farmer’s market or negotiating at the Ashby flea market? What about baby’s first trip on BART — seems like the best thing for a bridge-n-tunnel kid!

A brilliant but simple idea! I can’t wait to get started on this.

I think a picture on Telegraph is a must for a Berkeley baby! Sather gate or Sproul Plaza more generally would also make for great photo ops.

Alright Whitney, I’m free. When are we taking our boys for their Berkeley photos shoots? We can warm ‘em up at the Alta Bates playground.

Tagged a pic of Sophie along the riverfront in Portland, Oregon, hosting her friend Jude, out-of-town guest. Feels very Portland essence : ) Fun idea!
