Contest is closed. “Is that a travel Boppy?” the other mom said to me with obvious envy. We had both just emerged from a five-hour flight, I with my three sons and she with her nine-month old. I nodded as I jiggled Sawyer in the front carrier and tried to get the bigger boys to sit still while we waited for Alec to reclaim the gate-checked stroller and car seat. [Sorry I don't have a photo of me in this scenario. Honestly, who would have taken it?]
She continued, “Wow, I just sat on this flight with him in my lap and my wrists and hands falling asleep.”
In that moment, I wanted to give her my Boppy travel pillow (available for order at babiesrus.com) to save a rookie mom from the plight of not being able to adjust her arms during a cross-country flight for fear of waking a sleeping baby. But I also want to save it for myself for next time. Sorry, lady.
Yes, it’s just one more thing to carry. But it’s a really lightweight thing that has a strap and easily clips to other things. Once you make it onto the airplane, it unfolds into a nearly full-size nursing pillow that can clip around your waist giving the babe a comfy place to lay down.
Great for new moms who need a nursing pillow on a trip or any baby mama who doesn’t buy an airplane seat for the kiddo.
Want to win a Boppy travel pillow of you own?!
We’re happy to give away one Boppy travel pillow (pictured above), Boppy nursing cover, and a Boppy infant car seat handle cushion (oh my aching hands!) to a reader (retail value $85) who posts a comment below. Simply tell us about a time you wished you had a third hand for dealing with your baby and you will be entered to win. We will choose a winner at random on January 12th. See contest rules.

We leave Hawaii on the 21st and would love to win!
A third hand would always come in hand since I have an extremely active little one.
I could definitely use a third hand (and boppy travel pillow!) every time I take my 8 month old daughter back east to visit the family we moved away from when she was 9 weeks old. She’s been good on all of our flights so far (knock on wood!), but my arms get SO tired holding her. I’ve tried to figure out a way to bring our boppy with us, but it always loses out to extra diapers in case we get airport stranded.
I always need a third hand when carrying my 8 month old. I especially need one when folding laundry, washing dishes, and cleaning the house (my son loves to be held!).
A third hand/arm would definitely be helpful on flights or while trying to do anything while holding the baby
Oh this would have been amazing for our flight home from Ohio in October with a sick baby who had to be cuddled at all times!
Wow! I had no idea these existed. I think this would be perfect to keep in the car also for those times when you need to nurse in not so comfy locations.
I just flew alone and an extra hand or a pillow for my son would have been great!
Because 3 hands are better than 2
Two for the baby, 1 for mom.
I am a mom to a 1 year old and am pregnant with our 2nd. I am currently nursing #1 and plan on tandem nursing… I will need all the help I can get! I could use this giveaway!!
I haven’t had my first little one yet…but February will be here soon and I’m sure I’ll have a million and one reasons!
As my family lives in Chicago and my hubby’s family lives in Tennessee….this would be awesome to have for our frequent travels!
Omg I didn’t even know these existed! I am taking two 4+ hour flights in the next few months and I need this!
This is so much cooler than bringing a regular Boppy! They take up crazy space in your carry-on.
Hmm..a third hand? Basically at any point in the day. Do my feet count?
A third hand? Every minute of every day since my son was born!!
Last week during my rookie mom airport layover… Made the rookie mistake to grab dinner & soda, while pushing stroller without cup holder before bringing baby for diaper change & bathroom break… Then not having time to eat before loading the plane. Once settled on the plane, carry on stowed, diaper bag at feet, baby on lap ready to quick eat before baby needs to eat, I was told we had to switch rows becuase our row didn’t have enough oxygen masks. This rookie mom could have used 4 more hands!
Oh goodness – how about all the time!? I bet any mommy would say the same.
I could always use a third hand! Especially when I leave the house it always seems like I have 10 things to carry plus the baby in the carseat!
I especially would love a third hand while carrying everything and loading kids. This would be terribly useful!
When diapering, I could have always used a 3rd hand to hold the baby down, clean the behind, grab the new diaper and the ointment. And yes, baby girls can urinate as far and as high as boys!
Oh how much help this would have been on the three road trips we took last summer in my son’s first six months of life! Heck, it would have even been helpful to have in the car for the first three months of his life when he was nursing every two hours. GREAT invention!
I could have used a third, *healthy* hand the day after Christmas, when everyone in the house (except the cat) had a stomach bug. That extra hand could have administered Pedialyte and Gatorade to everyone.
When do you not wish you had a third hand when raising a baby! Haha. I mostly felt this way with serious blow outs. But I guess I did get the third hand when I would fetch my hubby to help out too. How can so much come out of something so small!
I’ve carted my full-size Boppy around enough on car trips (and daily life) during the last year that this travel version would have rocked my world (and made me full much more together!).
It’d also be life-altering for our upcoming flights this spring.
I always need a third hand to help with my 4 year old while holding my 8 month old.
i wish i had a third hand today, my daughter just started to learn to crawl and is already getting into things quickly…. today is the day i need to childproof my house
How about a 4th and 5th hand! Why stop at 3?
oh I would LOVE this! We flew for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I will be flying (alone) in April to see family in Germany!! Am nervous! Though at 6 months, baby did great on the last flight, despite my tingling arms!
I’d love to win this for my sister. She just traveled from Auckland, NZ to Indiana over the holidays with a 5-month old! She sure had her hands full. She’s making another trip w/him in 7 months & I’d love to send this to her to help the trip!
We take lots of road trips and nursing in the car at reststops is not my favorite. This would help so much!
We really needed one on our trip to India…we were one an airplane for 14 hours…we had a bassinet but our son was not that in to it…we really wished for one of the boppy pillows especially since i was breast feeding
For those times when the sandwich is just over there but the baby insists on being held in both of your hands just so while it naps and you NEED those few moments of sleeping baby bliss but boy are you hungry!
I’m having my first this coming February and then we’re moving out of the country in July. I would LOVE to have this for the international flight – I hadn’t even thought about my hands/arms falling asleep trying to hold the baby on the plane…
First time momma, here, will definitely need another hand, ie a travel boppy! We will be traveling soon, and my husband gripes about all the things we have to take with us for the baby… This will be much sleeker!
After the holidays with 39 family members all at once, trying make dishes and wrap presents at other people’s houses…a travel boppy would have been nice!
The first time I had to use the bathroom and I didn’t have a stroller in the car with me I could have used one, possibly two other thands. I was just carrying my son – I even left the car seat in the car because I thought I’d just go into the ladies’ room, change his diaper and right back out. Of course my body had other ideas…I had no place to put him down that was safe and secure, so I did some serious acrobatics to manage to do what I needed to do and also keep him safe (without leaving him unattended on the changing table). I now at least always take him into the bathroom in a car seat but preferably a stroller so I have a safe, controlled place for him to be while I take care of my own needs.
I’ll need a third after my first born arrives in February.
I wish I had a third hand everytime I try to carry groceries and the baby and shut the hatch on the back of my SUV!
Oooo – this is the best idea ever – and will definitely get one (hopefully win one!) for our little baby #2 due in August!
I don’t have a baby yet (less than 3 months to go!) but I can imagine plenty of situations where the third hand will come in handy!
I took my 4 month son from Seattle to California and ended up in the middle seat both ways! On the upside the baby slept most the flight, on the downside I was the “don’t move until we land” girl. So so so so sore.
This boppy would be a blessing for us. I can’t imagine traveling to other side of world (read india) with 10 month old active baby girl..
Really cool. Would love this for my new baby.
With an almost 3 year old and a 5 month old, and 3 airplane trips in the next 3 months, this would be amazing to have!
All of my family lives in CA while I live in Oklahoma with my husband and baby to be. Family guilt trips leave me sweating the logistics of traveling with my little boy when he comes. I love your advice!
My husband is deployed all the time so with a 1 and 2 year old and another on the way a third hand is needed all the time. Going to shows with my boys would be one of the times. I am always trying to do things with them even if I am alone.
I wish I had a third hand when I’m trying to juggle everyday things, with a 3 year old and a 5 month old anything helps—feeding my 5 month old while playing with my 3 year old…getting stuff done in the kitchen..laundry!…and a bathroom break!…..Would love to win this!
DOes everyday count?
A third hand would be helpful every day!! My little one loves to be held and look around, so getting stuff done around the house is a task. LOVE the new boppy by the way, cannot live without mine!
I don’t have kids yet; I’m entering for a friend who would surely welcome a third hand when her baby boy arrives!
I felt like maybe from week 5- month 5, I needed a 3rd hand while nursing away from home! I have a feeling that this baby is going to be the same way (due in March)!
