At postnatal yoga today, Scarlett and I sat between moms with baby girls named Sage and Hazel.
Are we a trend? Are people going to think we Berkeley mamas pick our children’s names out of the J.Crew catalog? Should I have considered Amber? Mauve? Ebony?

As another mom of Sage, I can only say that we are glad we passed on Ecru. It didn’t do much for me; it was just kind of…neutral.
Thankfully I think Sage and Hazel are not primarily colour words. They are *thing* of a particular colour, and hence certain shades are referred to as sage or hazel. If you can find kids named White, Blue or Green, then I’ll believe ya!
