It holds a lot more, and might be a little easier to control. I've been asked to make everything from bears to letters and dinosaurs, and the bottle is much easier than the measuring cup! The letter was clearly visible in the pancake and it was much easier for her to manage enough pancakes for my three brothers and me. Just make sure you pour the non-symmetric letters, like G, B, E, R, etc... backwards otherwise they will be in reverse after the flip.
