Sports + Wii = Fun (and you can win!)

by RookieMom Heather on November 18, 2009

in Announcements,Geeky,Los Angeles,Mommy

We were already fans of the Wii for new parents long before we heard of Wii Fit. But now, geeking out with video games and trying to be fit shredheads with Jillian are two great tastes that taste great together. Thanks to Sports Authority, we’re giving away one Wii Fit Plus Board and Jillian Michaels’ new fitness game.

Sports Authority is opening up a new Wii Fit area of their store, called the Wii Fit Plus experience, where you can go and try out some of the games. Moms having more fun? We couldn’t agree more!

If you’re anywhere near the Sports Authority in Torrance, CA on Thursday morning, Jillian Michaels will be there in person whipping folks into shape and giving away video games. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. and runs all morning.

Me time is hard for me to find. I usually find it after bedtime or early in the morning before anyone else is up.

vern November 29, 2009 at 1:04 pm

I find my me time by dropping my son off with grandma for a few hours. And it makes grandma happy to hang out with him so…

Win win

shawna November 29, 2009 at 2:48 pm

I try to take time for myself after the kids are in bed or when daddy is home to take care of them.

Joanna Allison November 29, 2009 at 3:12 pm

Naptime.

Denyse November 29, 2009 at 3:31 pm

I find me time while the kids are at school. In 3 days I start a job during school hours so I have to find some new me time.

Kim H. November 29, 2009 at 3:32 pm

My DH helps by taking care of the girl giving me time alone. I love to take long bubble baths!

Lori Taube November 29, 2009 at 3:44 pm

Luckily, I get “me” time while my son is napping, after my husband goes to work. some days it’s not much time, but even a few minutes of recuperation is well-received!

About 30 minutes before I fall asleep…I’ll relax in bed, and read or do my nails. Just a little time for myself :)

Paula H November 29, 2009 at 5:09 pm

I put the kids to bed early so that I can have some time to do what I want.

LeeAnn P. November 29, 2009 at 5:22 pm

Does locking myself in the bathroom as soon as DH gets home count as me time?

christopher h November 29, 2009 at 6:10 pm

i get someone to babysit

Aniela November 29, 2009 at 6:14 pm

My husband works long hours, so it’s hard to fine “me” time, but I have no problem handing the kids over to him and taking a break.

jennifer handke November 29, 2009 at 6:17 pm

The only “me” time I seem to get is in the car driving to work every morning. I usually use it for bad karoake-type entertainment and a nice cup of coffee. :)

Lori November 29, 2009 at 6:33 pm

My “me” time is exercise 3 mornings a week when 2 of my children are in school and my third is napping!

Karina November 29, 2009 at 6:38 pm

we take turns whenever we get a chance

My husband and I take turns letting the other one have me time. I usually go shopping and my husband goes fishing.

Scary Mommy November 29, 2009 at 7:10 pm

I have NO me time. I NEED me time. PLEASE give me ME time?!! :)

Amy November 29, 2009 at 7:19 pm

I bust *ss all day to keep on top of chores so that I can collapse on the couch after bedtime. I need that time to zone out!

Tara November 29, 2009 at 7:19 pm

It took a bit of time but I have my kids’ naps synchronized. I’m also extremely lucky to have a husband who understands that I need some time to myself after he gets home from work.

Karen Gonyea November 29, 2009 at 7:21 pm

Me time?? what’s that. When I do get a few moments, I enjoy reading :)

Alisa Shtromberg November 29, 2009 at 7:24 pm

My me time is usually on the weekends when my tot is taking a nap. It gives me about 1.5-2 hrs. And that usually goes to catching up on a couple of episodes of shows I watch.

reeva November 29, 2009 at 7:38 pm

my ‘me’ time is actually at work during lunch hour

Jammie November 29, 2009 at 7:56 pm

I have to sneak to the bathroom to find me time. But I do find it lol

Elizabeth Y. November 29, 2009 at 8:02 pm

I simply tell my kids when I need to take a mommy break and then excuse myself from the room. Even if it’s just for 10 minutes, it’s break time.

Terri Pillow November 29, 2009 at 9:07 pm

My me time is normally early in the morning before the day gets started. Thanks for the contest.

tee bee November 29, 2009 at 9:12 pm

i wake up extra early one day a week to hike the local mountains with my dogs. it’s a great way to clear my head and recenter a bit.

Angela Winesburg November 29, 2009 at 9:15 pm

My mom or my mother-in-law takes the kids off my hand for awhile. Thanks for the chance!

Rosey November 29, 2009 at 9:59 pm

I wake up in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping. I don’t get to do it too very often, but when I can, I really enjoy it.

Vicki Andrew November 29, 2009 at 10:18 pm

you have to have a support system that you can call on to give you a break when you need some alone time

Anne November 29, 2009 at 10:30 pm

That is what Grandmas are for! One of the perks of having divorced parents is having 4 sets of grandparents who love to take the guys when I need a break!

Jennifer Jozwiak November 29, 2009 at 11:03 pm

I read a book while my little one is asleep.

Sonya November 30, 2009 at 12:11 am

A hot bath, a steamy book and a cold glass of wine after they’re asleep!

Gianna November 30, 2009 at 12:40 am

The only me time I get is a shower LOL if i’m lucky.

Sylvia Harrington November 30, 2009 at 12:43 am

My “me time” is when I hit the showers. Sometimes I hit the showers twice a day to get more “me time”. The shower usually takes longer than necessary so that I can have some more time to myself. ;0)

chastidy November 30, 2009 at 1:49 am

Its really hard, my me time in when the kids go to bed :)

Betty C November 30, 2009 at 2:04 am

I’ve gone to the extreme of locking myself in the car when I was really stressed but usually a nice warm bath after everyone is in bed will be my “me time”

Betty C November 30, 2009 at 2:05 am
Kathy S November 30, 2009 at 2:15 am

I’m now the grandparent of two precious girls, but when my kids were little…once I had tucked them in for the night, my husband would “hold down the fort” while I totally relaxed (with a book) in my big old clawfoot bathtub. Sure thing to soak the stress of the day away!
