Hi Heather,

Thanks so much for the great write up! I'm so glad you had a rewarding month of The Scramble. Wait until you check out our new site, available to everyon on Monday (you can see it at www.thescramble.net until then) where you can use the weekly menu I choose, or customize it by searching from our Scramble recipe database by ingredient, meal type, or dietary need. We're getting great feedback from Scramble subscribers already--hope you decide to give it a try.

P.S. I know incorporate the side dish directions into the main dish directions so you won't have that issue anymore.

Thanks, Aviva

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. Its really all I use for our family dinners. I'm the picky eater in my family (way more so than my toddler - its embarrassing), so I don't follow her weekly menus. Rather, I just pick and choose a few dishes for each week and shop for them on the weekend. I lose out on the benefit of the pre-planned shopping lists from the book, but the meals are simple enough that its not too much of a burden to have to make my own lists. Some of the meals are kind of bland (perfect for me or the ususal picy toddlers). Love the pecan encrusted trout, and the pineapple tuna. Served the latter for company and got two requests for the recipe!

[...] Basically, I fell in love with the Scramble. I liked having all my meals planned (without hurting my brain and feeling too neurotic), I liked doing a week’s shopping in one go (or sometimes a second mini run to pick up fresh meat), and I liked putting different foods on the table with such little effort. You can read more about my optimistic first week and my battle-scarred fourth week on our little-known blog*. Aside from the author’s apparent affinity for cilantro and pork, it was just all good. [...]
