Activity #435: Win the *hippest* thing in babywearing in our Scootababy carrier giveaway!

by Whitney

A new babywearing device comes onto the scene every day and you can only determine if one works for you and your baby by trying it out. Enter to win the Scootababy and find out if it’s the one for you. Scootababy retails for $119.00.

scootababyThe mom who invented Scootababy says:

Slings, pouches, frontpacks, backpacks, mei tais, wraps… I’ve tried and appreciated them all! But none of these carriers did what I wanted most – to carry my baby in the most natural position (straddling the hip), in comfort, convenience, and style. I didn’t want to fuss with anything that needed a lot of adjusting to put on and readjusting to get baby in or out. Comfort was also key – I needed something that would distribute my baby’s weight over more than just the shoulders (this became even more important as my baby got older and heavier).

scootababyNow we’ve got one to give away to a randomly selected reader who comments on this post. Just tell us one thing you would do while wearing your child in the Scootababy.

Comment before Sunday, November 16, 2008. Winner will be selected on Monday, November 17th and have 7 days to reply before a new winner is selected.

Hooray for a comfortable hip-hold. We’ve just started hippin’ it up in our house (Dez is 6 months old today!) and I can’t make a Moby or an Ergo do it in a way that is comfortable for both of us. Thanks for posting about this. I’m eager to see how it works for people!

Also: Love your blog! I just discovered it and I’m loving the archives. Thank you!

Kirsten, SF

2 Mika 11.10.08 at 12:59 pm

In an awesome carrier like that, I’d go for a hike up the mountains near our house!

3 Debbie Dubrow 11.10.08 at 1:02 pm

What a great giveaway. I love to go for long walks w/a baby in a carrier.

4 amanda @ www.kiddio.org 11.10.08 at 1:04 pm

This looks great! I would plan to hike. Our third kid isn’t into the backpack, and this looks like it would be great for hiking!

5 rachael 11.10.08 at 1:14 pm

Okay, I would really love this. I have looked and looked for the best carrier for my kid. I am always out in the yard, around the house, hiking, in the community. I would use it for so many things. I have a new one on the way. Puleeease. Pick me.

6 Krista Finney 11.10.08 at 1:58 pm

I would chase my 3 year old while wearing this carrier. My 6 month old is getting comfortable to be “hipped” and I find it easier to carry her places then to put her in the stroller like I did her brother.

7 julianne 11.10.08 at 2:25 pm

I’d go grocery shopping! Front is awkward when shopping, and on my back, she can’t see my face, and I can’t see whether she’s shoplifting. Hip is perfect!

8 Daicia 11.10.08 at 2:27 pm

I’d wash the dog! My baby is already an outside girl and she she loves being strapped to Momma while I water plants, do yardwork, etc. I bet she’d giggle the whole doggy bath time because it involves two of her favorite things–Alie the dog and water!!

9 Cate 11.10.08 at 2:35 pm

This looks awesome. I’d wear it while chasing my other child!

10 Jessica Turner 11.10.08 at 2:50 pm

I would LOVE to win this. I am short and tiny and haven’t found a carrier that works for me. This looks like it totally would. Pick me, pick me! :) Thanks for the chance to win.

11 Jonah Lisa 11.10.08 at 3:07 pm

Sign my up! Got a new coming in 6 weeks and never did like my Maya Wrap.

12 Carol 11.10.08 at 3:23 pm

I’d probably take a walk around the yard.

13 beartifix 11.10.08 at 3:37 pm

What couldn’t you do with this? This would be useful for daily dog walks, shopping, working around the house, etc.

Thanks for the great giveaway!

14 Kirsten Williamson 11.10.08 at 3:39 pm

This looks great! I would definitely use it when out shopping and I could imagine hanging out in it next summer for some outdoor concerts. Thanks for the giveaway!

15 Marketing Mommy 11.10.08 at 3:42 pm

I would prepare meals with two hands instead of one. My 1 year old insists on being held from the moment I arrive home from the office, but there’s work to be done in the kitchen, too!

16 CHARLINE S 11.10.08 at 3:59 pm

I could do dishes.

17 Drea @ Monkey Monkey Underpants 11.10.08 at 4:04 pm

I would go grocery shopping and do chores around the house. I try to do the hip hold with my Moby but it is uncomfortable and my NoJo sling is too small now! :(

18 Kim 11.10.08 at 4:12 pm

I’m due with my first son in 2 days and am looking forward to using baby carriers until my baby gets too big for it! I plan on going about my normal activities when I have a baby in a carrier!

19 Heather 11.10.08 at 4:20 pm

I would go through the airports with my baby close to me when we return to Russia to finalize our adoption of our little boy :)

heatherlbrandt (at) verizon (dot) net

20 Claire 11.10.08 at 4:23 pm

I would do all the things I need to do to juggle my classes for my LPN studies AND keep up with a kindergartener and a newborn due mid-February. I feel so stretched now that it would be a Godsend to have this special carrier to ease things for me after the new baby arrives. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

21 Kami Nygren 11.10.08 at 4:29 pm

Shop! I have 3 kiddos and shopping with all of them is very tricky!!

22 wendy mazursky 11.10.08 at 4:33 pm

I’d share some organic ice cream with my son attached to my hip! The carrier looks great! I totally want to try it. Hey, what’s the weight limit on that thing? My son is 22 months, around 30 lbs.

23 Aimee 11.10.08 at 4:38 pm

I would do more game playing with my older girls with some freed up hands! (and more cleaning, and more crafts, grocery shopping, little trips…like to the zoo..the list goes on!)

24 Cecilia 11.10.08 at 5:08 pm

I’d go to the mailbox. And go for a walk, and grocery shopping and just out and about. My boy is not a fan of the Bjorn, and I find a sling hurts my back after a while, but this Scootababy looks like the perfect solution.

25 kelli 11.10.08 at 5:20 pm

I would totally chase my other two kids while wearing this. And walk the dog.

26 April 11.10.08 at 5:28 pm

This carrier looks great — I love the idea of comfortably carrying my daughter on my hip as she grows. What I’d do if I won it: I’d wear her to the farmer’s market and then wear her in the kitchen as I cook up the loot I buy!

27 MRS.MOMMYY 11.10.08 at 5:32 pm

use two hands to type on the computer or maybe put on my makeup without losing hand control

28 Karen 11.10.08 at 5:54 pm

Fold the laundry…this job is impossible unless kiddo is asleep or I’m able to get her to focus on something else.

29 Jessica B. 11.10.08 at 6:09 pm

I would be able to play with my older son while wearing my younger one. It is nice when you can have your hands free.

30 Annie 11.10.08 at 6:30 pm

cool!!

31 John Mizell 11.10.08 at 6:49 pm

our baby in a carrier, that’s what I need

32 Toni B. 11.10.08 at 6:58 pm

What a great carrier, would love to try it out.

33 Michelle 11.10.08 at 6:59 pm

I would love to try this out.

34 Megan 11.10.08 at 7:46 pm

I would vacuum, shop, go for walks, and much more with this great carrier.

35 Shannon Baas 11.10.08 at 9:10 pm

Shopping.

36 Stephanie 11.10.08 at 10:38 pm

I’m looking forward to wearing my baby at the local Farmer’s Market and all around town.

37 Autumn H. 11.10.08 at 11:08 pm

I love this thing, could totally use it at my house!!

autumn398 (at) yahoo.com

38 debra 11.10.08 at 11:44 pm

I would walk my son home from day care in it. Sometimes he doesn’t want to be in his stroller and I am fine with that but it is hard to carry him and push the stroller, while he is dancing to the NYC cars blasting their music. This would be great!

39 Lisa 11.11.08 at 12:20 am

I would be able to run quick errands without the stroller! I love carrying my baby but my carpal tunnel wrists don’t allow me to do it for long. I tried the other slings - they hurt my shoulder too much, but this one seems awesome!

Keep up the good work rookie moms! Love your site!

40 Michele 11.11.08 at 1:06 am

We’ve had good luck with our Beco Butterfly but it hurts my back after a while. I’d love to try the hip carry- we baby wear shopping, going to festivals, just about anywhere you normally see strollers.

41 ky2here 11.11.08 at 3:55 am

Mummy must visit the necessary room sometime!

42 Melissa 11.11.08 at 5:23 am

Started out with a front pack, but baby’s not too happy about it anymore at 5 months. I’ve been looking for something different (not a backpack) that would give him more freedom to move while still being secure. This looks like it may be the answer!

43 wren 11.11.08 at 6:31 am

As demanded by my 4.5 monther, I’d wear him all day, indoors and out, snow and shine, and if its as comfortable as claimed . . . I spread the word on the web!

44 hetal g 11.11.08 at 6:32 am

Play with my other kid…What a wonderful idea. I am looking forward to this win!

45 Jeanne 11.11.08 at 6:36 am

I’d take Baby Ben to the National Portrait Gallery. I haven’t been in ages. The stroller is too bulky for exhibits an Ben only likes being held on the shoulder where he can see everything: he hates the sling and the carrier. I know he (and I) would love this. It would lend support to the way I naturally carry him.

46 simone 11.11.08 at 6:50 am

I love going for walks with my dog without having to use a stroller!

47 Valerie Furr 11.11.08 at 6:53 am

Have to be shopping or doing my walking what a great
thing to have need this one bad.

48 Douglas W 11.11.08 at 7:32 am

Why can’t my GF think of neat things like this to suppliment her income while she’s pg. All she thinks about is things to eat. I hope I win this so I can take our newest “bubbino” shopping so mama can rest.

49 Vergie 11.11.08 at 7:46 am

easy to use

50 Deb 11.11.08 at 8:10 am

With a new one arriving today or tomorrow - this would be great.

51 Kristi 11.11.08 at 8:30 am

I would play with my toddler son while my new baby (due in april) is in the sling!!!

52 shari 11.11.08 at 8:53 am

This would be a great help when shopping with my 2 year old daughter. I could carry the baby and still hold on the toddler. What a great thing this would be.

53 Leigh 11.11.08 at 9:09 am

I would definately take out my cruiser bicycle that I haven’t gotten to use since moving to beautiful Florida. Getting out of the house together, seeing nature and getting some exercise and fresh air would be just what the doctor ordered:)

54 Carrie 11.11.08 at 9:21 am

I’d take my baby to local festivals and the farmer’s and arts markets without haveing to lug around a giant stroller.

55 Tina 11.11.08 at 9:33 am

I would wear this to watch all of my husband’s games! We spend so much time on football sidelines and courtside at his games- this would be a life saver!

56 Shannon N. 11.11.08 at 9:35 am

I’d do just about everything. My five-month-old son constantly wants to be held and carried but is getting heavy! He hates the slings and the Ergo that I’ve tried. This one looks like a great hybrid that he might actually tolerate! Prettty pleeease pick me. :)

57 Charissa 11.11.08 at 9:38 am

Kaelan loves to see what I’m doing and wants to be carried frequently, so this would be perfect. She wants to watch me cook, so this would probably be where I’d get the most use out of it. Our family also hikes a lot, so as she gets bigger, it would be a great way to replace the carrier she’s about to outgrow. Thanks for the giveaway!

58 Jeanette malan 11.11.08 at 9:52 am

have my hands free and shop

59 Terra 11.11.08 at 9:53 am

I could do many, many things, but basically just do the things around my house…. dishes, laundry, picking things up, wiping things down. Sometimes a baby just wants to be held, but not necessarily entertained. :) I have yet to find a comfortable carrier! I hope I get it!

60 diana 11.11.08 at 9:55 am

I will be taking a 17 hours flight with my 6 month old to Asia soon, and a stroller is not an option…but this carrier looks absolutely useful whether it is waiting for the next flight to move around towns in india

61 Erin 11.11.08 at 9:57 am

I would love, love, love a sling/wrap that I didn’t have to have a PhD in mummifying myself to use :) My 3-month old loves to be close and carried, so this would be the ideal way for me to actually get something done while still taking care of his need for Mommy time! Thanks for the opportunity!

62 Casey H 11.11.08 at 10:41 am

I’d definately use this while vacuuming. Its the hardest thing to get done with a 3 month old that always wants to be held!!

63 Laura 11.11.08 at 10:48 am

I would love to walk my dog and carry my baby at the same time!

64 Amy R 11.11.08 at 11:08 am

I would be able to do housework and go to stores whenever I needed with my baby!Looks cute and comfortable.

65 Megan 11.11.08 at 11:12 am

I think this looks great! I would use this to function again! Baby #3 has really bad reflux and it is hard to do everything! I can’t lay her down without hearing about it. I think the hip is a good place to carry her because I would be able to keep the spit-ups off my clothes (its hard to clean it up with her head on my chest).

66 Amanda 11.11.08 at 11:15 am

oh, a hip carrier. I am in love with it already. What could I do while using it? You mean, besides everything? I could, water the plants. I could clean up the playroom. I could, walk for more than a block without back pain. I’m getting smiley just thinking about it. ;)

67 Sandra 11.11.08 at 11:30 am

Laundry, vacuum, grocery shop, and on and on.

68 Lauren 11.11.08 at 12:51 pm

This carrier looks like a cooler and more convenient alternative to the wrap I use now. I’m a volunteer leader of the Family Readiness Group for my husband’s company of 10th Mountain Division and I stay very busy with meetings, planning sessions, errands, and fundraising, especially during deployments! Since my daughter was born the only way I’ve been able to continue to volunteer is to wear her everywhere I go, she’s my best accessory! Now that she’s 7 months old the side carry is much more comfortable, and I’d love to have a carrier designed especially for that, and one that looks so much easier to get her in and out of.

69 Jill W 11.11.08 at 1:02 pm

Love to go for walks, and we live on a hill–pushing the stroller up the hill gets a little old, so I would LOVE to have this instead, thanks!

70 Julia 11.11.08 at 1:05 pm

I’d walk around the house doing errands with this carrier…she loves seeing everything eye level!

71 Emily 11.11.08 at 1:26 pm

I would take my son to the botanical gardens, so he could look at all the pretty flowers and foliage.

72 Teresa 11.11.08 at 1:35 pm

I would love to sport this with my 15 month old while shopping and picking up my preschooler. It looks so comfortable, I’m dying to try it.

73 Erin Shives 11.11.08 at 1:45 pm

ANYTHING! It’s awesome to get up and move and have my little man right there but the sling that I have is very cumbersome so I’d really like this one. It’s especially nice because I’m more mobile to play with my 3 year old daughter too! Oh, I hope you pick me!

74 Tanya 11.11.08 at 2:21 pm

I would use it to free up an extra hand to get things done around the house. It would be great for running errands, etc. There are so many uses for this great carrier. It looks comfortable!!

75 Amber 11.11.08 at 2:22 pm

I’d take my baby on a hike up above Sundance… ok, we’d end up snowshoeing it now, but the carrier looks comfy enough to handle a day on the side of a mountain!

76 Jennifer W. 11.11.08 at 2:27 pm

I would use this while grocery shopping.

77 Sara 11.11.08 at 2:31 pm

I have a new baby who is 3 weeks old and I would love to put her in the carrier and take her for walks through the neighborhood.

78 amy 11.11.08 at 3:18 pm

what would i do? laundry, wash dishes, check mail, shop and everythingelse you can think of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

79 Julia Magrath 11.11.08 at 3:22 pm

I would go for walks around my neighborhood.

80 Meg 11.11.08 at 3:36 pm

I would give it to my pregnant best friend so we could go shopping with her new little girl!

81 Leah Rosenbaum 11.11.08 at 3:38 pm

I would do dishes and hang laundry.

82 Aniela R. 11.11.08 at 3:50 pm

Wow, I could clean up, fold laundry, and walk around anywhere without having to push a bulky stroller.

83 Sundi 11.11.08 at 4:15 pm

I would use it to carry my baby while chasing down my two preschoolers at the grocery store! It seems perfect!

84 Judy Y 11.11.08 at 4:24 pm

I would take my baby to the zoo. Last time we went she didn’t like the stroller and I carried her until I was exhausted and then we left. I could actually carry her through the whoe zoo with this. Love it.

85 Casey 11.11.08 at 4:27 pm

I would straighten up the house.

86 Terra Jones 11.11.08 at 4:34 pm

“swiff” my floors, lol :)

Thanks for the chance!

87 Vickie 11.11.08 at 4:40 pm

Wow, this looks so comfortable! I’d go shopping with it - looks like it would make things so much easier.

88 Laura 11.11.08 at 4:56 pm

This would be great to keep my 16-month old in while I’m taking my 3-year old to and from school. She’s too small to keep up on foot, but too tall for the Baby Bjorn. This looks awesome!

89 lace 11.11.08 at 4:59 pm

I’d be able to grocery shop without having to run after a kid every few minutes.

90 jenna 11.11.08 at 5:10 pm

Do dishes, laundry, vacuum…stuff around the house. Thanks for the giveaway!

91 Jayme 11.11.08 at 5:12 pm

i would use it while walking the dog. great giveaway!

92 Sarah 11.11.08 at 5:25 pm

grocery shopping!

93 Anita 11.11.08 at 6:04 pm

Just about anything but mainly long walks.

94 Merrie 11.11.08 at 6:07 pm

oooh. I’d take my baby to work and not hide in my office embarrassed that I couldn’t wedge my son in my sling.

95 Annie 11.11.08 at 6:36 pm

I’ve tried front carriers and wraps and they’ve all been too hard to use or too uncomfortable. This one seems more ergonomically correct.

96 tom homrich 11.11.08 at 6:39 pm

A GREAT BIG SMILE

97 Kerry 11.11.08 at 6:42 pm

One thing I would do while wearing the Scootababy is take my oldest into preschool. It seems like I never have enough hands to walk 3 kids into school to drop my son off! I would love to win this!

98 Donna 11.11.08 at 6:43 pm

I would go grocery shopping. The baby always seems to want to be held in the grocery store!

99 Mary Ann 11.11.08 at 6:57 pm

I would use my new Scootababy carrier to keep close with my granddaughter, Ava. We will be able to do so many things TOGETHER like shopping , working in the flower garden, playing with the puppies and brushing the horses. I can’t wait to use it!

100 kristen 11.11.08 at 7:18 pm

I’d do more walking in the city!

101 Kimbelry Nelson 11.11.08 at 7:31 pm

I would run errands, clean, and walk to the park. This looks way better than the other 2 carriers I have spent good money on. I would love to win this one!

102 Kathy D 11.11.08 at 7:35 pm

would throw on my rubber boots and carry baby threw the mud to the barn a little easier

103 Stacy 11.11.08 at 8:39 pm

That would make doing housework so much easier.

104 Allison 11.11.08 at 8:48 pm

Now that my second son is on the way, I could really use one of these. I think I would probably wear it most often when taking my toddler to the park. How great would it be to hold my little one close while chasing after my rambunctious boy?

105 Veronica 11.11.08 at 8:57 pm

I would use it to carry my little one around as we hang out at church, I also think vaccuming would be high on the list because she does not like the noise if she is down.

106 Heather Prenger 11.11.08 at 9:05 pm

Great blog!!! This would be so wonderful for my little guy. I might be able to even do some things around the house with the scootababy!

107 Kerri 11.11.08 at 9:07 pm

I’d love a hand’s free shopping experience while wearing my son! great giveaway! Thanks.

108 Katie 11.11.08 at 9:10 pm

I could dustmop my house without hearing constant crying to be picked up!

109 alby 11.11.08 at 9:47 pm

I would use it to carry my daughter home from daycare - now that she has outgrown the baby bjorn and has inexplicable hatred of the stroller, this walk has become quite an ordeal.

110 Donna Thompson 11.11.08 at 9:49 pm

Looks like it would feel terrific.

111 Mona 11.11.08 at 9:55 pm

Oh my back would love this! I’m a petite mama with a baby about 25% of my weight who loves to be carried and danced with.

112 Serena 11.11.08 at 10:10 pm

I would love to try this out!

113 jen 11.11.08 at 11:16 pm

Love the Ergo–can’t use it sideways without tweaking my neck, though. This one looks like it might solve some of that–and give the babe the chance to look forward (okay, to her side) as we’re walking.

114 jen 11.11.08 at 11:21 pm

Love the Ergo–can’t use it sideways without tweaking my neck, though. This one looks like it might solve some of that–and give the babe the chance to look forward (okay, to her side) as we’re walking. Sad to say, my top uses for the carrier would all involve housework (taking the garbage down three flights of stairs, holding Baby up while switching the laundry–man, she’s clingy these days!).

115 Angela K 11.11.08 at 11:22 pm

I have one of these, and they’re great! I can do everything with my 7-month old in it from cleaning the house to grocery shopping. It is so easy to put on too, so I actually use it. I would love to win this for my best friend who is having a baby in January!

116 danielle 11.11.08 at 11:22 pm

Dusting, minor chores and even hiking.

117 rebecca 11.11.08 at 11:23 pm

I think it would assist my daughter in maintaining her busy lifestyle, while allowin the new baby to be a part of everyday life in “moms” world.

118 Nic P 11.11.08 at 11:55 pm

This looks great! I’d love to give it a try.

119 roberta 11.12.08 at 12:36 am

It may sound basic, but I love the closeness of them just doing my everday erranads, even grocery shopping. I don’t want them in a germy cart, I want him cuddled up to me.

120 Kirsten 11.12.08 at 1:16 am

Oh, I would love to give one to my son and his girlfriend. They are expecting and this looks wonderful.

121 hope 11.12.08 at 1:33 am

This looks like a beautiful and practical baby carrier! I’d love to win it! Currently, we have a sling which is in my hubby’s size, so when I try it on with our baby boy, it’s not as comfortable as it should be. But I love it because it keeps my baby close to me. I can do the laundry and make my breakfast while baby is in the sling. Hope I can win your beautiful carrier and adjust it to my size! Thanks a lot!

hope.september[at]gmail.com

122 kirsten 11.12.08 at 1:34 am

Oops! I meant to add what I would do– I would make the facial products I make for mamas and mamas-to-be… I haven’t had use of my hands in six months and the Scootababy looks like it could give me some hands-free time while still carrying my little guy.

123 Nicole 11.12.08 at 5:41 am

Oh, I could get Mr. Crankenstein to quit fussing because he wants to be carried all day. I can have my hands back. Please, please, please give me my hands back…I miss them!

124 Maggie 11.12.08 at 6:07 am

I would do just about anything! This carrier looks like something easy but very useful. I think I would finally be able to go shopping again LOL.
hematopoiesis at hotmail dot com

125 Brittney Wilson 11.12.08 at 7:15 am

shop at a flea market!

126 Audrey 11.12.08 at 7:30 am

I would walk my dogs while wearing the baby. Lord knows those poor neglected animals need more walks. Sadly we live in Colorado which means baby will have to be bundled in his horrifying fleece snow suit in which he appears oddly like a disgruntled teletubbie. The dogs will wear coats too, making them look pretty much like disgruntled dogs. So overall everyone would be disgruntled except me. No, I will have a song in my heart knowing that today I have made sure everyone got fresh air and sunshine. Take that “mom guilt”.

127 Sara 11.12.08 at 7:56 am

I would vacuum with my baby!!

128 Jen 11.12.08 at 8:20 am

Aweseom giveaway! I’m so glad I found this blog (not just because of the chance at free stuff, of course). I would use this for my daily walks with The Babe. It would be awesome to keep up our activities once the Babe #2 arrives without having to shell out for a twin stroller that we would only get to use for a couple of months.

129 Melissa 11.12.08 at 8:59 am

I would use the Scootababy in the grocery store!

130 Lindley 11.12.08 at 9:01 am

Not much fun, but I would do the dishes. The water sound makes for good baby sleep and it is nice to get stuff done around the house! Thanks!

I’d take my little bug for some long walks on the beach when we go to visit my parents. I tried this with my current sling, but after 30 minutes or so my shoulder just starts aching!

132 Tammy Fischer 11.12.08 at 10:10 am

I have been looking for something to transition my daughter into. She has refused to face inward since she was two months old and wants to face out. I have two mai tais, a moby, and two ring slings. I love my ring sling right now but I can tell she is ready for something different. I cant wait to try this sling. I bet it will be just the thing to use when we go on our walks.

133 Kate Board 11.12.08 at 10:21 am

I love babywearing! I’m about to have a newborn and an 18 month old, so I will use this for everything!!

134 Leanne 11.12.08 at 10:28 am

Finally! A reason to be proud of my ample pregnancy hips - a great place to prop up baby in a Scootababy carrier!

135 Susan K. 11.12.08 at 11:16 am

I’d actually be able to go out to the mall or grocery store by myself with one of these! Right now my 6 month old hates the stroller and only wants to be hip carried. I have a front carrier but he’s at that age where he wants to look out and I don’t feel slings are secure enough for me to hip carry with a squirmy baby so the Scootababy seems like it would be perfect for me to be able to finally finger through items while my baby is strapped in tight and able to look around!

136 hazel hunt 11.12.08 at 11:22 am

I would use the Scootababy in the grocery store!

137 Megan 11.12.08 at 11:26 am

With my hands free like that I would go hiking or grocery shopping! Love it! Thanks for the chance to win!

138 Carol H. 11.12.08 at 11:32 am

I would love to find a comfy hip sling to help me hold my 1 year old so I could still chase after my 3 year old without dropping someone or someone slipping! Standing in line at amusement parks would be great with something like this. No more aching backs!

139 Angie 11.12.08 at 11:33 am

I would love this for my soon to be here DD2! I find hip holds very convenient for quick errands and shopping trips and know the baby would be comfortable while I chase around her 2 yr. old sister!

140 Kristy 11.12.08 at 11:38 am

I would love to use this to get through grocery shopping fuss-free!

141 Kelli 11.12.08 at 11:41 am

This would be great for shopping, walks, or even around the house! I just haven’t been able to find a hip carrier that’s actually comfortable .. would love to try it. Thanks for the chance at your giveaway!

142 jenni 11.12.08 at 11:42 am

This is great! I would wear this so that I would still have my hands free to be able to do activities with my four year old!

143 rachael 11.12.08 at 11:44 am

oh my gosh, this carrier would be perfect for when i am out alone running errands with my triplets! i usually use the double stroller and a sling or bjorn (which they are getting a bit big for) andthis looks like a great hold for a toddler!

144 Molly 11.12.08 at 11:47 am

I love babycarrying! I have never seen this carrier before. I would love to try it!

145 christina 11.12.08 at 12:06 pm

i would walk the path along lake michigan.

146 Jennifer H 11.12.08 at 12:07 pm

I’d clean up around the house! It is desperately needed.

147 Cindy 11.12.08 at 12:12 pm

I would be able to play with my older four children while slinging my baby in this awesome carrier!

148 Ryan Schwartz 11.12.08 at 12:13 pm

Trying to decide on a carrier for our newborn, this one looks cool!

149 Shelley 11.12.08 at 12:14 pm

Shop!

150 Jeni 11.12.08 at 12:15 pm

I would be able to grocery shop much easier!

151 Jenny 11.12.08 at 12:17 pm

I’d love to have my hands free around the house. What a great giveaway!

152 Beth 11.12.08 at 12:21 pm

I’m expecting my second child who would be in this carrier while I chase my extremely active daughter around the playground/mall/grocery store next year.

153 Stephanie S. 11.12.08 at 12:23 pm

I would definitely go hiking in the Santa Monica mountains! Thanks for the contest!

154 Wendy Copley 11.12.08 at 12:25 pm

This would get me through Trader Joes with a happy baby.

155 Julie 11.12.08 at 12:30 pm

I would run my errands while wearing this.

156 Emily 11.12.08 at 12:32 pm

I would get some cleaning and vacuuming done! What a great product! Love it!

157 Bobbie 11.12.08 at 12:33 pm

Definitely hiking! Cleaning would be a lot easier too, but hiking is more fun.

158 Michele 11.12.08 at 12:39 pm

I would get a lot more done if I had one of those when my kids were small! LOL! I would LOVE to give that to my daughter for my grandson! Thanks! :)

159 Gretchen 11.12.08 at 12:40 pm

Gosh, this is a great idea! I looks great for shopping and walking around the zoo!

160 Melanie 11.12.08 at 12:53 pm

Oooh, this looks like a great idea — I hope I win!

161 Stacee 11.12.08 at 12:58 pm

Am still searching for the perfect carrier. This looks like it could be the one!

162 Carrie 11.12.08 at 1:02 pm

I’d play with my toddler more. With a deployed husband. a new baby and a toddler it’s hard to get one on one time!

163 JC 11.12.08 at 1:05 pm

I would bake the day away - cheesecakes, brownies, cookies, oh my. Then I would use it instead of the stroller when walking to and from the school to pick up my kindergartner.

164 Nicole L. 11.12.08 at 1:06 pm

Finally! Something that looks comfortable. I have another type of carrier and never used it because it was uncomfortable for me. This looks great!

165 Shelby 11.12.08 at 1:13 pm

Looks pretty cool! I’d use it to walk around Disneyland without a stroller!

166 Radford Harrell 11.12.08 at 1:38 pm

I’d probably steal it from my wife…that’s good design and should be shown off!

167 elizabeth 11.12.08 at 1:43 pm

Wow, this looks SO comfortable. I have an old Sarah’s ride - and use it everyday - but it KILLS my shoulder! I would use this to carry my 8mo into town to shop (we walk everywhere) - as I use the stroller, but would love to have him hip side!

Thank you for the opportunity!

168 Heather 11.12.08 at 1:49 pm

I’d go grocery shopping!

169 Keyomi 11.12.08 at 1:49 pm

i love this. I Can go grocery shopping with ease…how wonderful!

170 Deb 11.12.08 at 1:53 pm

I would chase my 2 year old around while holding my little girl in the scootababy.

171 Jessica Rich 11.12.08 at 1:58 pm

One word: Dishes.

172 Jessica 11.12.08 at 2:00 pm

I might be able to get my laundry folded without having to stop and put my little one back on her play mat.

173 Tiffany @ Snapshots of Life 11.12.08 at 2:13 pm

I would use it while taking a walk or shopping at the mall! Thanks for hosting!

174 theclevermom 11.12.08 at 2:15 pm

I’d get some housework done with my little teething boy.

175 Dacia 11.12.08 at 2:17 pm

I just lugged my daughter around the botanical gardens on my hip–I would love to have one of these for our frequent nature walks!

176 Tonya 11.12.08 at 2:34 pm

My baby is over a year now so this would be great for us!

177 Dawn 11.12.08 at 2:35 pm

Cleaning, shopping, walking…you name it! :)

178 Debbie 11.12.08 at 3:00 pm

this carrier looks AWESOME. Definitely what I need to carry my little girl who isn’t so light!

179 Melissa 11.12.08 at 3:00 pm

I love this! Looks like it would be perfect for keeping hands-free to walk the dog!

180 Jennifer T. 11.12.08 at 3:06 pm

This looks great for summer berry picking and fall apple harvesting!

181 Megan@SortaCrunchy 11.12.08 at 3:09 pm

I have wanted one of these for the longest time. They look AMAZING!

If I had one, I could easily pop my toddler in it for housework, nature walks, and family dance time!

182 Ellen 11.12.08 at 3:13 pm

I would use it for my newborn while grocery shopping with my 3 year old!

183 Tamrah T. 11.12.08 at 3:13 pm

It’s so natural to carry your child on your hip! I think it makes sense to have a little help. This product looks wonderfully supportive! I would use it for my day to day routine, example shopping when my child is asleep.

184 MissyT 11.12.08 at 3:14 pm

I would love the Scootababy to free me and my toddler up to volunteer in my older childrens’ classrooms! Thanks!

185 Lindsay 11.12.08 at 3:14 pm

My make-up! God forbid I look a little like my old self!

186 Amy 11.12.08 at 3:17 pm

I’m having a hard time coming up with much that I couldn’t do while wearing this carrier. I’d definitely get more housework done!

187 Hilary 11.12.08 at 3:18 pm

I would take my son to the library - he loves to touch the books!

188 Jessica Hanneman 11.12.08 at 3:27 pm

I have one boy and watch another one. The double strollar is so heavy it discourages me from getting out and going places. If I had a comfortable way to carry mine I could push a lighter strollar and actually attempt to go places like a the grocery store, the library or even just a walk to the park. Please pick me…I need teh excercise to help lose the baby weight.

189 Michele McHenry 11.12.08 at 3:35 pm

Since this would be for my daughter and husband, I see my son in law using it the most since he is the SAHD! I see him using it for everything except while driving! Thanks for the chance to get something nice for them.

190 Kelly 11.12.08 at 3:35 pm

Looks great! Thanks for the giveaway.

191 Marci 11.12.08 at 3:47 pm

Take long walks.

192 Karin 11.12.08 at 3:50 pm

This looks fantastic! I’d use it all the time, cooking, cleaning, walking, shopping - so much better than starting into the back of my daughter’s head with a bjorn! We’d actually be able to talk to each other and do stuff all at the same time. :-)

193 Lisa 11.12.08 at 3:50 pm

I’d vacuum! And actually get other things done!

194 Vivian 11.12.08 at 3:51 pm

What a fun looking carrier. We just found out we another little one on the way.

195 Karin 11.12.08 at 3:55 pm

oops - staring, not starting.

196 Regina 11.12.08 at 3:59 pm

I also have the Ergo, but my 20-month old daughter is already too heavy for more than a quick walk to the store. And, like some others, I don’t find the hip carry very comfortable. I’d love to try this! Then we could enjoy longer walks outside without having to rely on the stroller.

197 I'm The Mom 11.12.08 at 4:06 pm

One way I would use this would be everyday when I took my 5 yr old to the bus stop! I’m

198 Cheryl 11.12.08 at 4:08 pm

Okay, this is great!! I’m a very petite person so the big back packs don’t fit comfortably on me, and the front carriers are only nice when child is very small, so this is great to see something that can work for a bigger baby!! I’d get tons of stuff done!! Grocery shopping/running errands, going on longer walks with our other child, #2 child is on the way so this would be great!!

199 kristi blackstone 11.12.08 at 4:31 pm

I’d use it while shopping!

200 Tiffany 11.12.08 at 4:35 pm

I would do dishes, go for a walk, fold laundry, talk on the phone…Oh, all the things I could do!

201 Yvonne 11.12.08 at 4:35 pm

I’d run many many errands with it! Thanks for the contest!

202 Monique Rizzo 11.12.08 at 4:36 pm

Definately would use this when shopping at the mall!

203 Karen Jacobson 11.12.08 at 4:40 pm

I would love this carrier. As a new mom to two survivng triplets, I would love to be able to snuggle up to one of my boys while I am taking care of the other one. What a wonderful giveaway

204 Tori 11.12.08 at 4:47 pm

Um, what WOULDN’T I do whilst wearing this thing? Being a single mom I need all the appendages in service I can get! It looks so natural and comfy too, oh PLEEEEEEAAASE pick me!

205 Christina J 11.12.08 at 4:50 pm

I’d wear this anytime I need an extra arm! My daughter loves to be held and I’m not as strong as I’d like to be holding her on my hip, she tends to slide down, down, down… This would be especially great to use when you know you’ll need to do a lot of writing - my daughter loves paper so it’s really hard to write my name or fill out a form sometimes.
Thanks!!

206 adrienne 11.12.08 at 4:51 pm

Stand in the line at the post office.

:)

207 Sheri 11.12.08 at 4:53 pm

With my son already 19lbs at 5 1/2 months that carrier sounds like the perfect solution for saving my back.

208 Julieta 11.12.08 at 5:05 pm

Grocery shopping! That sounds heavenly.

209 karissa 11.12.08 at 5:07 pm

I could still walk the dogs! we would all love that!

210 makila 11.12.08 at 5:10 pm

I would love to try this. I have an ergo but my arms are so short it’s hard to get my tall baby inside the pouch without having to readjust everything.

211 radmama 11.12.08 at 5:16 pm

Use it to wear my 5 month old while we volunteer at her siblings’ school. The hip hold is great for helping the the grade primary-one class pick out their library books.

212 Catie 11.12.08 at 5:19 pm

What a great product! I fell while running a few years ago and broke my hip - of course it never bothered me until I was pregnant and now it hurts all of the time from carrying my 10 month old around with my hip sticking out at an uncomfortable angle for her to sit on. This product looks like it was made for me.

213 Ritu 11.12.08 at 5:23 pm

Yes!! Just in time, I have a 28-lb. 13-month old and am 9 1/2 months pregnant as well. I need some assistance with weight distribution right about now. :)

214 Nicol 11.12.08 at 5:25 pm

Vacuum the house!

215 Krista 11.12.08 at 5:26 pm

I would walk on the beach with my little muffin baby.

216 Becky 11.12.08 at 5:31 pm

What a great looking carrier. This would be great to have to use around the house when my son wants to look at what I am doing but I still need my hands.

217 Dawn Papandrea-Khan 11.12.08 at 5:38 pm

I just gave birth to baby #3. He is 3 weeks old today. I have tried many carriers and have not found one that is comfortable like this one seems to be. I would love to try it out and maybe get my walking shoes on and go for a hike with my family.

Thanks for the great giveaway, DAWN

218 Michelle 11.12.08 at 5:41 pm

Ooh, a Scootababy! I’ve wanted to try this since The Little Empress has begun to sit up unassisted. This would be great!

219 Carina 11.12.08 at 5:42 pm

I would use it with my 5 month old to walk arond town!

220 Sabrina 11.12.08 at 5:56 pm

I would use it to wear one baby and carry the other - two are coming our way soon!

221 LeeAnne 11.12.08 at 5:58 pm

I’ll dance.

222 Natalie 11.12.08 at 6:01 pm

I would make my morning oatmeal without leaving ds on the floor for the dogs to lick.

223 Whitney A 11.12.08 at 6:01 pm

Visit some of the Smithsonian museums together. It’s so much more enjoyable for my son to be out of his stroller and at my height so we can enjoy the exhibits together and share moments of discovery.

224 Sky 11.12.08 at 6:16 pm

Grocery shop! It would be so very easy with this carrier!

seeryusfam@msn.com

225 Lena 11.12.08 at 6:20 pm

I would give it to my mom! She watches my son everday. She has created her “own” carrier. She does this over the shoulder/around the waist think with a shawl. This looks like it would be much easier for her!

226 Amanda 11.12.08 at 6:30 pm

I’d wear my 1 year old and hold the hands of my 2.5 year old twins! : )

227 KimB 11.12.08 at 6:32 pm

I would dance around the room with my hands in the air.

228 kristina 11.12.08 at 6:43 pm

i love it! I would run around the house after my other 2 kids in diapers, while wearing my baby!!

229 Gem 11.12.08 at 6:51 pm

I’m due next month and I can see myself using this carrier to go on some great hikes!

230 Kendra 11.12.08 at 7:05 pm

Wow! The possibilities seem endless. I have tried so many carriers with my 25lb 9 mo old and nothing seems comfortable for his weight and for me. This looks like it would be perfect for our day to day outings to the grocery and library.

231 leneka bryant 11.12.08 at 7:07 pm

honestly i want this for my best friend, she is 17, married and just had a little boy..my beautiful god baby jayden. she cant really afford alot right now, they are trying to save up for the babys surgery. for some reason there inssurance only pays for half..but i am pretty sure she would love to go for walks with him in it..she is determined to get back in shape

232 Chellelee7 11.12.08 at 7:31 pm

I’ve never tried the “hip” baby carriers but they look great. I would cook dinn
