A new babywearing device comes onto the scene every day and you can only determine if one works for you and your baby by trying it out. Enter to win the Scootababy and find out if it’s the one for you. Scootababy retails for $119.00.
The mom who invented Scootababy says:
Slings, pouches, frontpacks, backpacks, mei tais, wraps… I’ve tried and appreciated them all! But none of these carriers did what I wanted most – to carry my baby in the most natural position (straddling the hip), in comfort, convenience, and style. I didn’t want to fuss with anything that needed a lot of adjusting to put on and readjusting to get baby in or out. Comfort was also key – I needed something that would distribute my baby’s weight over more than just the shoulders (this became even more important as my baby got older and heavier).
Now we’ve got one to give away to a randomly selected reader who comments on this post. Just tell us one thing you would do while wearing your child in the Scootababy.
Comment before Sunday, November 16, 2008. Winner will be selected on Monday, November 17th and have 7 days to reply before a new winner is selected.

I’d love to go shopping, do chores, and chase the kids I babysit. It’d be perfect for our active lifestlyes.
Yay! I would sew things and hang clothing, create artwork and garden and stroll about looking at the lovely wildness around me and my babe, if only I was wearing this untra-cool Scootababy ^__^
i would wear my youngest at the park so I could keep up with my other 3
I have a beautiful 5 month old daughter and I would use this amazing Scootababy carrier for taking her on long walks with our Black Lab Lucy. My daughter would get such a kick out of being able to watch the dog and me while we take our walks and she is almost the size that will be perfect for using this. I can also envision her being in the Scootababy carrier when we go to the market or to events that my other children are involved in. Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter.
would love a scootababy to go shopping with my baby boy AND walk the dog!
It would be nice to be able to give attention to the other kids for once, while wearing baby!
I would walk down to the beach with my baby!
I feel like the hip is the more natural and comfortable position to carry anything, bags, child etc.
Great find, Thanks
This would be great for walking around the lake!
What would I do? Everything! How nice to be able to hold a an older baby and still get things done. I could play with my son, do dishes, vacuum, etc.
My wife is about to become a new mom, and I am sure we can both use this.
WOW – this sounds like a great invention! I’d love to be able to “carry” my baby girl while doing all the usual domestic duties – laundry, dishes, vacuuming, you name it. I’d love to have one!
I bought the sling, and loved it, but now my son is too big for it, and he hates the front carrier I have bought, I think he would be much happier in this carrier!!
I’d have to say take care of my other two kids. I’m due in January and I’ll have two two-year-olds as well at that point, so hands-free is definitely good!
I would fully enjoy the ability to have my hands free and my baby so close! Thanks for the contest!
Wow! Awesome! I love the look of the hip-carrier you’ve got! Looks so comfy! “Look, mom, NO HANDS!” I would definitely go shopping with baby in the carrier! Yeah, that’s just one thing I’d do with it.
I’d take my granddaughter everywhere without the stroller.
I would take my older daughter to the playground.
I know exactly what I would be doing. I would have to chase my 2 year old because I know he will be into something. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I would take our other “baby” for a walk. Our 86 lb lab, Luther, who turns two in February, and is all toddler just like his “sister” Madison. We put a deposit down at a breeder for Luther and a week later found out we were pregnant! It’s been an interesting ride –raising puppy and baby! But poor puppy doesn’t get walked as much as he used to because it’s hard to walk him and push the stroller at the same time! With the scootababy I can take BOTH my babies on a walk!!!
I would shop!
I love going to fairs and festivals, but pushing a stroller in the crowd can be such a pain! It would be lovely to be able to stroll (no pun intended) and enjoy the atmosphere with my baby safe on my hip!
I’m a carrier addict and this is one I haven’t tried! I don’t have a good hip carrier!
I’m having my second child in a few weeks and I would definitely use this so that I would have my hands free to chase after my 2-year-old! Thanks!
Hands free shopping!
i would wqear this to the mall for a little SHOPPING
~`
One of the many things I would do is clean my kitchen! It is a difficult task to get done with a fussy baby who would much rather be held than sit in a high chair.
I’m expecting twins so a Scootababy would come in “handy” (or hands free as the case may be)! I could strap one on and hold the other on the other hip, heck I may even just strap a Scootababy to each hip! A carrier like this would give me the opportunity give equal attention & care to each of my girls and I think that’s pretty hip! This carrier would be great for everyday outings: walking the dog, play dates at the park, or shopping at the farmer’s market.
Scootababy would be perfect for my walk to the bookstore.

I’d go grocery shopping!
Sarah
I’d take a walk.
I would go shopping for a backpack.
:}
i’d go shopping!
I would use it all day long while I do laundry, play with my toddler, and take the kids outside for a walk.
I would go for a walk
Play on my computer
I think a visit to the zoo would be in order! Perfect!
I could clean up all the messes my wild boys make!
I’d get to have cuddles with my little Bella while getting out and about for a change – hard to do with having to lug a 5.5 month old. We live near the beach in a small town where you can pretty much walk everywhere so would be ideal – esp coming into summer plus I want to make the most of spending “close” time with her, she is growing up so quick already!! She’s so nosey and a mummy’s girl too so she would love it.
Love the product, looks soooo comfy to wear.
Aptly named “Scootababy” but functionally should be called “Help-A-Mom! ” Where would I go – ANYWHERE I wanted to- cute enough for any occasion!
go shopping!
This sounds like the perfect carrier. I’m simply not in love with my sling or my front pack. I’d love to give this a try. Oops, missed the part about what I’d do with it. I’d go to the grocery store WITHOUT the baby seat.
I’d fold laundry!
I am so excited about this giveaway! It would allow me to move for freely and have my hands back lol. I tried the front carriers and boy oh boy that didnt work. I’d love to try this hip carrier. Thanks so much for the giveaway.
Where wouldn’t I use it. I carry my 4 month old all the time, the zoo, arboretum, around the block, airport, grocery store . . .
HMMMMM…. Can I Teach pottery classes with my baby with this?
Just kidding, this will be a great prize!!
With a carrier like this, we’d go on a gorgeous hike!!!
BABYWEARING IS MAGICAL no matter what MOTRIN says!!! : )))
Thanks so much for the give~away! : )))
