@Maggie, I had asked Heather why, if her Roomba was so awesome, she thought that someone was willing to part with it for $25. Now I’m gathering that the unique chemistry of each house might be make it or break it for Roomba love.

I love ya, but I’ve got to disagree with you on this one. I used to have a Roomba… it didn’t work out for me. The dog was terrified of it, and every time I would try to let it do its thing while I was out, I would arrive home to find it had snagged itself on a floor divider thingy or a rug. I guess if you’re a pet-free and perfectly-smooth-floored family, it might work. Honestly, though, I find that vacuuming is one of those chores that seems so much worse than it actually is when you’re thinking about doing it. But then sort of a little cathartic once you actually get going…

agreed on every level! my screamasaurus son loved (and still loves) to watch and listen to that critter circle the bedroom floor. it’s better than yo gabba gabba! heck, i have time to shave my legs in the shower while the roomba is running as entertainment.
