Way to go Holden! I taught swim lessons for 8 years, that is a difficult fear for children to overcome when they’ve had a traumatic experience. Great job with the “Speedo” SuperMom.

And I definitely agree with the comment above mine. Tell that story at his wedding– and make sure to include the picture.

Learning to swim is HUGE. Z also made enormous strides at an every day for two weeks swim camp, and I’ve signed her up for more lessons at an indoor facility this fall.

In fact, I can’t decide what important life skill I’m more proud of my child accomplishing: reading or swimming.

SO TRUE!

Our experience this summer is that peer pressure really helped with water confidence. One of my twins Nate is naturally super brave in water and the other twin, Alex, saw the positive feedback Nate got. Then he would try to outdo Nate, leading to more and more antics from both of them. On his own, Alex is rather shy in the water but he’s been encouraged all summer seeing that Nate can do it.
