Are you tired of every other word being “choo choo” or “car” or “princess” (am I just projecting here?)? Whatever your child’s obsession, this too shall pass, so take some pictures of your babe at his happiest, surrounded by the objects of his affection. And make sure to get in on the fun yourself.

In my house, it’s all about trains and vehicles!
Instructions for indoor fun: line him up with all his trains, in his engineers cap, Thomas books, and with any other related paraphernalia that you can’t believe has made it’s way to your house.

As an outing, go seek out the real thing and photograph him around town in front of the train station and at all the various train tables or models you visit on a regular basis!

we have a mac, and create iPhoto slideshows for our kids for different events (our Day Out With Thomas, Christmas, camping, birthdays). I pick a song to go with each one and the kids LOVE watching them.
also looking up trains on flickr and viewing that as a slideshow – very popular at our house.
We took this picture of us and Holden with the auto-timer because we are perfect parents. ha ha.
This is a good tip. Just when I think my kids have settled on a craze (pirates, trains, dogs, etc.), they move on. It’s a good idea to preserve these memories. Just thinking of our phases brings a smile to my face. I’m great at taking loads of pictures, but terrible at doing something with them. Thanks for the inspiration that will hopefully propel me forward into action:).
This is a great idea! A good project that I can hopefully put on my Did Do list for the month!
Great idea! When we first moved to Maryland my son’s window faced the Amtrak rails. It wasn’t as bad as it sounds in terms of train noise and it was a huge treat for him. Now I feel like I’ve gotta go back and take some pics.
My son is really into ceiling fans, lights, and garage doors right now. I’m sure trains and cars are coming up next, so thanks for the tip!
I have some great pics of my son just as you described, wearing a conductor hat with his train table but have yet to take any of him with the real trains he’s seen. Thanks for the suggestion – it’ll look great in our photo book.
