I want to start a parent-of-sons club in order to feature stories, joys, frustrations, and anything else unique to raising a posse of man-children. I originally imagined a #3boysclub where I could identify and obsess over parents who have, as I do, three or more male children, but then I figured, why limit it?
While I still hold moms-of-many-boys on a pedestal, all are welcome into this virtual clubhouse if one or more of the following are true:
- You have one or more sons
- You have a daughter who likes boys (or typically boy stuff)
- You like boys yourself (not in the pervy way, please!)
I realize in deciding that “people who like boys” are welcome that I’ve just created the exact same club my then-six-year old tried to invent last year in his after-school program. Ha!
To get me started, will you please help me identify any friends, celebs, or bloggers who have a gaggle of boy children?
Let’s have some fun here. Whitney told me that Julie Bowen from Modern Family has her own 3 boy posse.

Cute (and crazy I bet)! Now you name some.

Even though they are grown-up, Ann Romney raised 5 boys!
don’t victoria and david beckham have 3 boys?
I’m in! As the mom of one kid (a boy, natch) and part of an extended family that includes quite a few all-boy families I would definitely love to be part of this “club”!
I am one of 3 girls and we each have one boy!
Two boys right here! I’ll join your boy club. When can we start complaining about stinky bathrooms?
I have a posse of four boys…15y, 13y, 10y…and 18 months! Would love to join! I guess I am not a “rookie” mom, but I feel like a rookie mom all over again with the baby now! And I am not a celebrity ;D!
If we receive another dump truck, I’m going to screa
.
One girl and 2 boys, one is 5 , one is 9 months. My 9 month old is my sweetie, but know soon I may have 2 crazy boys.
I have one son, and a newborn daughter who looks awfully cute in her big bro’s hand-me-downs. Amy over at http://www.amalah.com has 3 boys!
Cool! I have one boy and one girl who likes “boy stuff”! Thank goodness I didn’t have to buy all new toys for her…
There’s a blog by a woman with three boys and her experiences – everydaytreats.com.
Another who has four sons – http://onemomfiveboys.blogspot.com/
And one with five! – http://raisingmy5sons.com/
5 year old Triplet boys here! I can’t count the number of times I had to say “stop breaking my house” just today. Boys…
I want to join the club! I have 3 boys, 4 years,2 years, and 3 months old.
Ginger, 5 year old triplets, oh my word! I have two boys, aged 4 and 18 months. And I’m considering investing in drywall and splints already. Someone should teach a “boys first aid” class where you learn to identify whether a wound needs stitches, how much they can bleed before you should worry, is it broken or sprained, etc. Seriously!
we’re there too….I have 3 boys – a 5 year old (just started Kindergarten, eek!), an almost 3 yr old and an almost 1 year old; and my husband (who’s like a little boy when he’s sick, ha!). Starting at just 2 yrs of age, my oldest boy has always preferred playing ‘just with boys’. What’s the deal with that?!? I know I don’t make good tractor noises, but geez! And growing up, I had 2 sisters and 4 girl cousins as well as just 1 boy cousin…so there were MANY girly things around. But the trend reversed in our family. Now we have kids of our own which total: 2 girls and 11 boys. I’m surrounded by wrestling, dirt, and toy cars, oh my!
I’ll join! I have three awesome boys, ages 6, 4, and 1.5. I actually live in your neck of the woods and have seen you around with your entourage but have always been to shy to say hi. If you ever want to start a real-life boys club, I’ll sign up for that, too!
I’m in for the boys club!
Recent FUN boy exploits include unclogging the toilet in ALL 5 BATHROOMS in our house in one day and our first run-in with jock itch.
Sounds great! I have two boys!
I am having a boy any day now. I would love to join! There are so many baby blogs about little girls fashion and the likes it would be nice to be apart of a boys crew ☺
What a great idea!! I’ve got two boys (8 and 5) and finally had a little girl (5 months).
love this idea! I’m a mom of an only boy. Always wanting in on neat stuff for him and how to parent a boy vs a girl
I’m in! I have one boy, and I’m pregnant with another. I’m afraid to have any more after this for fear that I’ll have another boy. I have a few friends with several boys that will like this group too!
I have just one boy, 2 1/2. Would love to be in a club about boys, since most of my friends have girls!
I only have one boy, but I would like to join too. Please help me with the following: pee pee on the toilet, stinky feet, Athlete’s Foot! And how to get him to be nicer to younger sister. Love my boy, though. He’s a sweetie.
The members of No Doubt have tons of boys!
Tom (guitarist) has three boys.
Adrian (drums) has one boy (and two girls.)
Gwen Stefani (singer) has two boys.
Tony (bass) also has a daughter.
Nine kids total in the lineup!!
I have 2 boys, a 6 yr old and 11 month old. I want to be a part of the boys club!
Sign me up too! I have 2 boys (12 yrs and 16 months!), 1 boyish girl (7) and 1 girly girl (11). The oldest boy is my stepson and he is really sweet, but when I found out the little one was a boy I cried! I was scared of having a boy after raising 2 girls! But he’s really sweet and easy going. Not at all what I was expecting…. but he is still a baby.
I need a Mom-of-boys club. Desperately.
I want in! I’ve got 4 boys. A 7 y.o. and triplets that are turning 6 in a couple of weeks. I am officially the WINNAH in the boy jackpot.
Expecting our first baby after 4 long years of trying! It’s going to be a BOY!!!
Congrats, Shelby! Long-awaited babies are super special!
I have two boys
Levi will be 3 in October and Gabe is 9 months… I have a long road ahead of me!
I’m in as well! I have one one-year old boy, but my husband is one of four boys. Since I’m one of four girls, I have no idea what I’m in for. From the warnings my husband’s given me, though, I’m scared out of my wits and hoarding bandaids and peroxide.
I’m in! I have 2 boys!
Almost 3 yo and 1.5 yo! Boys rule!!
I’m in! My boys are 4 and 2 1/2 and I can totally identify with the energy that they have, but as much as they make me want to pull my hair out some days I think we’re done having kids just because I’m afraid to have a girl, if I could be guaranteed another boy I’d have him in a minute, there’s nothing like a boys love for his Mommy, even if he did hit me in the back of the head with a football first.

Hi Heather, are you still starting a boys club?? I’ve been bookmarking websites with cool boys clothing since I’m finding it’s harder to come by, now that my son is no longer in the adorable infant sizes (sigh…) and I’m not into sports or trucks.
My dream is to create a stylish line of clothing especially for boys!
Hi @lidia, we are starting a boys club, but its sort of a virtual support group.

In addition to writing about realistic post-partum outings, she also said she liked our book once in her cool pregnancy countdown. I love what she shared in this profile of her life in a boy-centered house as part of our Rookie Moms Boys Club. [...]
Would love to join the group!!! I have one amazing 16 month old son who I love with all my soul but am sure he will break something before he turns two, lol!!
You’re all in!
@Jessica, I’m curious if you think he’ll break something on his body or in your house.
@RookieMom Heather & @Jessica: I was wondering the same thing
I’ve been thinking about designing a line of baby & toddler tees just for boys, but wasn’t sure if there was enough of a market. This may be a good focus group for me! My 15-month old son is currently in the “I want to smash everything on the ground” phase…
Ha, ha! That’s how my brain functions these days, lol.
@RookieMom Heather & @lidia varesco design: I think he’ll break something on his body, lol…he’s already broken the TV and so we had to buy another one…of course the hubby bought a BIGGER one…lucky him, lol!!!
Great idea Heather!
Twin boys – 7 and a half years old.
Did I mention I’m tired?
Yes, ok, what is with the peeing on the toilet?! No matter how many times we tell them, it keeps happening. Oh, wait. That’s just like pretty much everything we tell them. Is that just a twin thing?
But, they are also the sweetest, funniest duo on the planet.
Love me some boys!

Woah! I missed this original post but just read the one today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m a Mom to boys – 3 to be exact. 6, 4 and 1. Good times, all the time. Never have I felt as outnumbered as when I walked into the bathroom the other night and Dad, the 6 year old and the 4 year old were standing around the commode – all emptying their bladders AT THE SAME time. But that’s what boys have the luxury of doing – I guess. I would love to be part of the club.
Did y’all see this interview with a mom of 5 boys? Love it http://www.rookiemoms.com/interview-with-alli-worthington-mom-of-5-boys/
