I would add a breast pump and hands free breast pump bra for anyone who wants to avoid tired hands, shoulders, and back. Pacifiers also helped my baby fall asleep on his own and stay asleep longer!

My baby HATED being in a swing. I found the travel seat to be a pain. I got a floppy seat and use that ...easier to carry and covers the seats in the restaurant and grocery store cart. I'm with Marissa on the swaddle blanket. My baby calmed right down when in the swaddle. The boppy was useless for me. It sits in the closet still in its original cover. Good job on purging the other useless baby stuff. It all takes up so much room!!

I think the only time I tried the boppy was with my fifth child (at the time she was born the boppy was getting really popular) I don't recall even hearing about it when I had the first four babies. For them I just used pillows. The funny thing is the boppy was great, but it didn't last long in the chaos of my "house of horrors" I'm sorry I meant to say "house of toddlers". The boppey was popped(ied)

I've noticed people either love the boppy or find it useless. I have both the boppy and my brest friend (I over-prepare for everything) and loved my brest friend in the hospital, but found the boppy a better fit afterwards. Maybe it has something to do with lap positioning and chair choice. Either way, I can't believe I still use the boppy every single day. I think I'll need a boppy weaning at some point.

I agree with everything mentioned, including my brest fried, and will add a wipes warmer. I know it sounds silly, but we have cloth wipes to go with the cloth diapers and it saves a step of having to wet the wipe with spray with a wriggling baby on the changing table. The added bonus is that my now-speaking daughter doesn't complain about cold wipes.

i got the boppy because i thought i was supposed to, but i hated it. i had to use 5 or more extra pillows in addition to the boppy. then i discovered mybrestfriend nursing pillow/table type thing. it hooks around your waist and it was literally the only thing i needed to nurse emma. unless i was in public then i also needed a nursing cover. i still have the boppy because sometimes its cute to put her in it for pictures but thats about it.
