Hi,
I am contemplating buying this table to convert into a light table as well and plan to illuminate it with ropelights under a plexiglass as in:http://www.minivanorclowncar.com/2011/12/11/turn-your-train-table-into-a-light-table/comment-page-1/#comment-1293. Was wondering how much space there is underneath when you lift the top panels off?

Brilliant! This will be perfect since we still use the train table, but Legos are making the entrance into our home now too. I was trying to figure out where I was going to put a Lego table and this solves that!

o.k. this post has perfect timing. My niece has been begging me to get down the legos we have in the attic. Since we have a little one I usually say no. Well, today I was super aunt. I caved and brought them down from the attic. Problem though….they were in a big plastic bag. How in the world do I organize them? Love your diy lego table conversion.
