My girls never took one but my son did. I was getting tons of oustdie pressure to kick his “Nunu” habit. I decided when he would quit, set a date then on that morning asked for his Nunu and never gave it back. There were a rough couple of nights but I stuck to my guns. He found one of his old Nunus recently. He looked at it, held it in his little hands for about ten minutes then dropped it in the trash can.I had my nephew for several weeks and he was incredibly dependant on his binky. He hardly spoke because the darn thing was in his mouth all the time. His first night at my house I stuck out my hand, told him he didn’t need it and he gave it to me! I did it completely expecting there to be a huge scene. I really only did it just to see his reaction. Imagine my surprise when he never had the thing in his mouth again from that moment on. Just do what is right for your daughter. A few tears is totally normal, and while heartbreaking, is just part of growing up. Good luck!
