Last year, you guys seemed to really like the opportunity to win books from Barefoot Books, so I asked them to give us another chance to giveaway books. In the post-holiday reflections on STUFF, it feels really nice to give away BOOKS. Though you do have to put them away and decide carefully how to add to your collection, they hold their value for much longer than other playthings, don’t you think?
In honor of Chinese New Year on January 23rd, we’re giving away a copy of The Great Race, along with four other books of the winner’s choosing from the Barefoot Books shop. I’m totally in love with the artwork of Clare Beaton who uses hand-sewn collages in her books.
(Also, did you know that if you are truly passionate about children’s books, you can become a Barefoot Books ambassador — a work-from-home sales job.)
The Great Race introduces the Chinese calendar and signs of the zodiac.
How to enter: Usually we do one entry per person, but this time we’ll do two. Get one entry for your comment telling us your child’s current favorite book, and a second entry (optional) if you click over and LIKE the Barefoot Books Facebook page and come back to comment that you have done that. (Don’t cheat — we’ll check!)
On Wednesday Jan 18, we’ll close the comments and select a winner. The winner will be able to pick four other Barefoot Books to receive from this catalog.

I like Barefoot books on Facebook.
Our favorite barefoot book is Who’s in the Forest?
Our 3 mo. old daughter, Althea, LOVES “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See”. It is amazing to see the wonder and delight in her eyes…I never realized children that young could truly enjoy a book, until we had her.
My daughter’s favorite book at the moment is Lullaby, Little One. She also loves anything by Sandra Boynton (as do I). Thanks for the chance to win some books to add to her collection!
Just “liked” Barefoot Books on Facebook. Thanks for suggesting such a wonderful publisher that encourages reading while also supporting causes.
We love “A Girl and her Gator!” Such a great story with a great life lesson.
Just “liked” barefoot books. Thank you!
My son’s favorite book is The Wheels on the Bus!
I am a fan of the Barefoot Books Facebook page
Our oldest child’s favorite book is “Where the Wild Things Are” By Maurice Sendak. Our youngest child’s favorite book is anything that is soft (cloth books of any variety).
And I too LIKE Barefoot Books on Facebook!
My son loves “I Love You As Much”. It’s the sweetest book about how much a mommy loves her baby! All Sandra Boynton is great too!
My kids’ current favorite books are:
“Vampires Don’t Wear Polka Dots”, anything else in the Bailey School Kids series, and other series/chapter books such as Magic Tree House, Nate the Great, etc. (6 year old son)
“Bathtime For Biscuit”, anything else in the “Biscuit” series, and other early reader books about dogs, cats, and Barbie (5 year old daughter)
Our current favorites are Sneezy the Snowman (great repetition) and You Cant Move A Hippo (teaches manners in a silly context). Would love to add some of the above beauties to our collection!
My daughter’s current favorite book is Captain Underpants!
