I’m curious what y’all think about jewelry that’s designed to be safe for babies to munch on. Opponents say that it sends the wrong message (like my six month old should instead learn self control and discipline not to slurp on my hair, clothes, and necklaces) but I am a recent fan.
I received my Chew Beads as a gift and I love them. I wear this necklace nearly every day and get compliments on it. One time, my babysitter tried to warn me, “Hey, You’re leaving the house with your teething necklace on” and I just laughed and kept going. Whitney can attest, I wear it with or without Sawyer since it doubles as my cutest, most trendy accessory.
This one is less than $40 and would make a terrific gift. As I saw on a recent babycenter blog post, there are many other kinds of attractive teething jewelry to choose from.
So, what do you guys think? Love or shove?

I received this necklace as a gift along with a matching bracelet that I never wear. The bracelet would be a clever way to track nursing but I use an app for that. Opinions are my own.

I wish I had this necklace 6 months ago when my little one was all about sticking my necklaces down her throat!
I was given a teething necklace (just one large pendant on a cord), and my baby likes it more than any of his other teethers. What I don’t like is that the cord gets drenched in drool, and is really gross. But I love the concept, particularly as something I can pull out as a distraction when I need it. But not all the time. I have enough drool all over me as it is!
Did I mention that this necklace is dishwasher safe?! Also, he still sucks on my hair and swings on it like a monkey.
Well, as long as they’re cute and something I’d wear anyway? Sure.
I think Sawyer is your cutest, most trendy accessory. (But the necklace looks nice too.)
Ooooh! Fabulous! Love the “teething necklace”!
Love! I got a Mommy Necklace when my youngest was born and wore it every day for 2 years. Now, he wears it. I just bought a second one for when baby 2.0 arrives! I get compliments on the necklaces all the time. Love, love, love.
I WANTED to love these! I bought one a few months ago, but it kept catching the hair at the nape of my neck. Also, I wish they had one with slightly smaller beads, or graduated the size from small at top to larger towards the middle. It didn’t look all chic and “statement necklace” like it does on you. That said, the customer service there was awesome, and they let me return it, without any issues. I woul definitely try another one if they could make one that didn’t catch little fine hairs and rip them out all day.
They’re definitely cute–I’d use ‘em even after the teething era passed. But, if someone could make something that would distract my kid from gleefully yanking out my curls, that would be the best.
Sincerely,
A soon to be bald mom
Cute – what’s not to like? Not my personal cup of tea, but they seem awesome for the right kid and the right mom. If someone gave them to me as a gift I’d keep it for sure.
A great idea! Pity your photos came out fuzzy! Will look to see if these are available in the UK!
I just started using one with my teething 4 month old and I love it! I prefer the bracelet though to avoid the hair snagging.
@Zoe, The photos are fuzzy self-portraits taken indoors on my Phone. Sorry.
I totally want one of these … they come in such great colors, too. I really like the style you’re wearing.
Love! Love! Love!!!!! Wear them all the time, even when I am not with my baby
