Our library has programs for children starting as a newborn! We go every week - free entertainment.

I use the library as a mind game for myself. I get books and movies, take them to the check out, use my "credit card"-like membership card and leave. It's a "store" that I never get a bill from (except if I'm late returning the books of course).

Some libraries (at least in Maryland) also have developmentally appropriate baby toys that parents can borrow for up to three weeks. Maybe some of the libraries in your state do to.

Another good thing about the library, if you happen to be noodling around town, is that it's usually one of the better places to find a quiet corner and breastfeed!
