One of the blogs in my Google Reader is Mom Inc, Daily. I was introduced to it by Mom Inc, Daily contributor, Jackie, a neighborhood friend and designing mom.
The founder, Cat, is a stationery designer in San Francisco. She launched the blog as a place for her and fellow designing moms to capture some of the tools, inspirations and best practices that support them in running creative businesses during the hectic years of motherhood. Here’s a little styleboard Cat uses to convey what her life looks like.
Cat does Q and As with other folks who are running creative businesses. I love when she asks them what their day looks like. (I just don’t love when they say that they wake up and exercise at 6 am because it makes me feel like I’m already behind.) Read some of the interviews >
Another category of posts I find intriguing are the “Biz How-Tos” which share behind-the-scenes info about being an Etsy seller or planning an event or photographing still objects. Read some of those posts here >
Awww, robot birthday party! Read about it on Mom Inc, Daily!
Now you tell me about one blog you read regularly. What is it that you like? The voice? The humor? The recipes? The photos? The comments from other readers?

I read so many mom-centric blogs, but probably the one I like the best is Nat The Fat Rat (http://www.natthefatrat.com), I think maybe because mostly it just seems like the author is having fun being a mom. It’s not overly obsessed with the finer details of motherhood–sleeping, feeding, diaper changing, whathaveyou. That can get tiresome and too much of that type of reading leads me down a path of self-doubt and despair. Instead, Natalie highlights the fun parts of being a mom. It’s a tactic I try to emulate on my own blog (www.houseofhippo.com).
thank you so much for the link love whitney!
!!
and as you know, we all LOVE rookie moms too
I read a few regularly. One is Maternal Dementia because she is such a great writer and she speaks my languages, and I not-so-secretly wish I lived in France. I spent two months there as an exchange student and would love to spend more time there.
The other one is Barefoot Foodie. Brittney is HI.LARIOUS. She talks about her relationship with her husband and her kids, and other random things that sometimes make me wonder if she’s in my head. She also openly discusses her body image issues, which I’m dealing with now, so it’s very helpful.
Oh, and Motherhood Uncensored and Mom 101. So. Amazing. I found both of those through your site! Thanks!
As an adoptive mom. I enjoy reading about other adoptive families…
These are two of my favorite blogs
