And I’ve “liked” Rookie Mom’s on FB!
We love our local city park–not the one around the corner, but the big one in our town. Geese, a nice pond, tons and tons of room to run around, plenty of shade.
My backyard!
We like to picnic in our backyard!
We’re looking forward to heading to the Morton Arboretum. There’s a neat spot with only 3 tables … and I’m not telling where it is, ’cause it seems to be unpopulated most of the times we go. Okay, if you really want to know, email me … and I’ll tell you, but I’m not giving the secret away on a blog that the whole world reads!
Lookout Mountain Nature Center. Awesome views, stuff for the kiddo to look at, and a couple nice little nature hikes.
There’s a short hike to a mountain bald called max patch. perfect for a picnic.
One of my favorite picnic spots is by Lake Harriet. Sailboats gliding, dogs walking, bikes whizzing by, ice cream cones dripping, music in the air, and Minneapolis enjoying the weather after a looooong winter!
We like to picnic in a grassy field next to a horse pasture or in our parks before a hike
We’ve already been on two picnics in our local park and it was LOVELY!

The local beaches, especially the state park…not so great for swimming (rocky) but awesome for picnics with benches and bathrooms and all!
Susquehanna State Park!
I love picnics in our neighborhood park.
We love to picnic at the beach or the eastern promenade which looks out over Portland’s back bay.
Our zoo has evening hours for members in the summer. We love to go there for a picnic dinner and walk after work!
Well here’s my one and only entry since I don’t do facebook. Good picnic spots in Chicago–Millenium Park, the Point in Hyde Park, Morton Arboretum. Those require a bit of work and advance planning but I love to do a spur of the moment picnic in the backyard or on our front porch.
we love to picnic at our city’s central park on nice days! then the kids love to play in the playground after.
I’m looking forward to a picnic at Teddy Roosevelt Island – but I should probably go now, as it seems like the DC area is skipping spring and moving straight to summer!
I like Lake Temescal. There’s a play area and plenty of space to run around!
I like Plum Organics
St. Ferdinand Park near us has a pretty lake – would be a perfect spot for a picnic!
My neighborhood just finished building a brand new park last fall. I haven’t had a chance to visit it yet, but I’m SO excited to take my babies there next spring.
My husband and I just bought new cruiser bikes which will be a great way to get to the park and enjoy dozens of picnics next year.
It’s been picnic weather in Houston for a while already. We like Discovery Green for picnicking and the splash park.
We like to go for picnics at Maplewood Farm!

We are planning on a trip to the beach in Alameda. Plenty of sand for the little one to play with and windy enough for kite flying entertainment for the older.
Fave place to picnic with my girls = Blake Gardens, Kensington.

Thanks so much for the chance!!
I’m ashamed to admit that we don’t ever picnic! We have enjoyed, years ago, picnicking in the Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland and Cordonices park in North Berkeley.
