This not-so-Secret Santa post is part of a sponsored series from Ubisoft, celebrating “12 Days of Giveaways.” See below for how you can enter up to 12 times to win fun and family-friendly video games.
I was sent a copy of Just Dance 2 to review. I started immediately playing the games in party mode (with an adult in my household who wishes to remain nameless) and had a very awkward evening. I grew more and more frustrated trying to earn points and shake my booty in a manner resembling a real dance while he destroyed my score by mastering the remote and barely moving his body.
If you factor in that he was forced to dance (and crush me!) to Big Girl (You Are Beautiful), rather than a song of his own choosing, you’ll understand why he begged me never to reveal his identity in this here blog.
A couple of days later — once my dignity had returned when everyone was still asleep — I tried it alone at 6AM. I used the “just sweat” mode to challenge myself to a week of dance-video-game fueled exercise. Though I still struggled with some of the moves, I got better at it each day. I reached the goal (3-4 songs per day for a week!) and enjoyed doing it. By the next weekend, when my kids walked in on me, I was ready to show off.
With 44 songs to choose from, I found a few old favorites and learned moves to some current songs (in addition to the ones I had never heard of): Vampire Weekend – A-Punk, Wham! – Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, The Jackson 5 – I Want You Back, and Rihanna – S.O.S. to name a few.
Bottom line: Good clean fun for an evening in with the ladies or a morning of performing for your kids and calling it a workout. Less fun to play with your husband.
Want to win a copy? To enter for a chance to win Just Dance 2 and Raving Rabbids Travel in Time for the Wii (approximately $90 value), tell us in the comments what games you love to play (video or analog, anything goes!). My favorite addiction (ahem, game) right now is Plants vs. Zombies for Xbox. My 22 mo. old likes to watch me play, and occasionally brings me the controller and forcibly sits me in front of the TV. He is excellent at telling me when zombies appear on the side of the screen. I figure it’s only a matter of time before he starts walking around saying ‘brains’.
Farmville, anything Sims.
i love the mario games (super mario and the new super mario wii). i’m a sucker for the old school stuff…
my son loves the lego games
I still love all of the old-school mario games! I’m excited that there’s going to be a new Donkey Kong game coming out soon too.
I love the board games Trouble (the one with the dome with a die in it) & Sorry. As far as Wii games go, I can’t get enough of my bowling game & Dancing with the Stars.
My favorite board games are Scrabble and Apples to Apples.
For the Wii, my husband and I love to battle it out on Guitar Hero. We also love to play iSpy Ultimate Challenge with my step-daughter.
This game is actually on her list, so it would be awesome if the giveaway favor sent it our way!
oh we love boggle. hard to play once the kids have gone to sleep (so noisy!), but we make it work but shaking the pieces in our hands and then shoving them into the letter slots. fun for all!
I’m kind of, sort of addicted to World of Warcraft. Not completely, yet, because I can still get up and do what I need to do or want to do without feeling to much anxiety about leaving my characters alone.
Racko is a favorite here!
We love playing games on the WII like bowling, frisbee golf and Monekyballl

My husband just picked up Wall-E for the Wii and my son is loving it. I love that there’s a decent multi-player mode so his friends can enjoy playing along at the same time. My kids love watching me on Wii Fit. My lack of coordination with SuperStep never fails to leave them laughing. Isn’t that what I’m for?
we love Super Mario brothers! I had to laugh when I was reading your story because I asked for this game for Christmas just for fun and considered taking it off the list because I knew that my sister would never let me get away with not trying it while she was in town…I think I would also like at least a week to practice my moves before I was ready to play with anyone else!
I love the old Mario Bros games and my family loves Apples to Apples!
I like playing Wii Fit and any kind of hidden object games.

Wii Sports Resort

Ohh, and bananagrams!
I just recently finished Harry Potter LEGO on the Wii. I got to 98% and my brother erased my game “on accident” and I had to start all over… but I finally beat it! It was my first game that I ever won all by myself
I’ve love to win Just Dance as I love to dance around but this would give me an excuse to do more of it!
We have the first Raving Rabbids game (LOVE the cow toss and the dancing ones) and so getting the new game would be awesome too!
I love the Gold’s Gym cardio & Wii Fit for working out, and also sometimes I break out the DDR but that takes more effort to hook up the mat so I’d love to have this game to add some dancing to my workout without having to mess with that!
And let me just say I LOOOOVE the rabbids games! I have the first two, and can never get enough of them! My husband and I love to race each other milking cows…silly but fun!
old school super mario on the wii! Hubby and I like to play together.
Rock Band on the PS3, settlers of Catan in analog land, wii sports, and lego star wars on the old xbox..

We’re finally getting a Wii this Christmas. My Son likes to play the boxing game at his friends house but I think we’ll love playing super mario brothers.
My husband and I are board game geeks. Our favorites are published by Rio Grande Games. Before our son was born most of our date nights involved a trip to our game closet, so in that respect, parenthood hasn’t had a huge impact on our social life.
On the Wii, my favorite games are exercise games.
My absolute favorite game of all time is Boggle. There’s an electronic version for my phone too!
We love Mario Cart for Wii. The kids love to beat mom at the rainbow course.
I love to play Family Game Night on the Wii with my 7 and 11 year old kiddos.
The hula hoop games on Wii…because I rock! I used to love WOW with all my heart, but it also took up just about all my time, so, sadly, it is no more.
I’ve always been a fan of DDR games so this is right up my alley!
Aside from that, my latest craze is Plants vs Zombies. Hee
I love so so much to dance and sing really embarrassingly loud to Step by Step on Just Dance. We can’t wait for Just Dance 2!
We don’t have a WWii but ar looking to get one…my friend has the Just Dance and that looks great. Also, there is one with cow races that are FUNNY! Thanks for the chance to win!
I am an old school video game kind of girl-loving Pac-man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders! But really want to try Just Dane 2, sounds totally up my alley!
I love sending our 2 daughters off to another room to watch a movie and having game night with my hubby. Our choice? Yahtzee from Hasbro Family Game Night! We’re such nerds! 8o)
We have a couple wii active games I like, but have been interested in trying the dance game.
I love to play the wii sports games like bowling and tennis
I like all the Wii Sports games. We also were addicted to golf last year. That one is fun to play with the hubby!! The Wii fi is pretty cool too but I question it’s calorie burning readings…lol.

I’m also REALLY addicted to Singstar and providing vocals on RockBand
Mario Kart always has and always will be my favorite video game. (The Nintendo 64 version has the most nostalgia, but I’m not picky.) Since buying Beatles Rock Band last year and discovering my inner Ringo, I’ve been loving it too.
One of our favorite games to play is Super Mario Kart!! We also enjoy family game night. Where we choose a wii game to play! xo
