Introducing the Beanbag Putting On Body game (sponsored)

When I was a kid, during recess you’d find me reading, playing jacks, or just sitting and talking with friends. Hence, my son’s daily deliveries of friendship bracelets and lanyards from day camp that tell me how he’s spending his time there are not surprising. I have not yet picked him up at the end of the day and heard a friend shout, “Great dodgeball game today, Julian!” Sports are just not his thing. Yet.

My kids are always game to play in our backyard, but exactly what they play is not the most strenuous of games. Drawing with chalk, hiding and finding treasures, and pretending to be in a stage performance are the standard activities. I usually try to give them some physical challenges like cartwheels, hula hooping, and long jumping (as measured with chalk) to get their muscles working.

Since I genuinely love the product, I was excited when GoGo squeeZ wanted to work with Rookie Moms. They sent us a bag of squeezy pouches in apple strawberry, apple peach, and apple cinnamon flavors — and a sampling of outdoor toys to make getting our “GoGo time” more fun.

When I sent them outside to interact with the new toys, Scarlett and Julian started making chalk circles, classifying their Webkinz animals by species, and then challenging their plush friends to balance bean bags on their bodies. And that is their new favorite game. See them in action in this video I captured:

We certainly enjoyed our GoGo time in the backyard and will be playing this game on a daily basis. Does your family have any made-up games? What are the rules?

Note: GoGo squeeZ compensated us for participation in this project. Next month we’ll do a giveaway of a set of outdoor toys and a video camera so that you can capture your family’s own special brand of outdoor fun.
