I’ve used a combination of Q tips and face lotion to take my eye makeup off for years. It is easy to get in close to remove eyeliner, but keeps the lotion out of your eyes. I’ve tried a million other combinations (cotton balls, tissues, actual make up remover) and I’ve stuck with this method for at least 10 years.
We noticed that DD would get “milk jam” under her roles of chub under her neck (lovely smell!). I would prop her on the boppy so I could get her head tilted back, and wipe out the gunk w/a Qtip. Then I would apply some aquaphor in the creases, using a Qtip, to help prevent any rashes!
I have started using them to clean the little yellow valve-holder parts for my breast pump. They’re the best way to get in that tiny gap!
Dipped in nail polish remover, they’re great for touching up diy pedicures!
I use Q-tips for cleaning. Nothing gets into the grooves of the stove or sink like a Q-tips!
we live in a house built in the 70′s which in turn means that all closet doors are those awful shutter like things… I use Q-tips to clean the very corners where the swiffer can’t reach. I go through about half a box doing so- but they works SO WELL!
I use them for cleaning lots of stuff! I’ve always used them for makeup removal but I also use them around the house for cleaning – especially when I’m cleaning around my faucets! It’s such a tight space between the faucet and the wall, that a Q-tip is the only thing that fits in between there.
I use them to clean my computer keyboard! I also use them on my baby’s toes too!
I use them for painting ornaments with the kids!
I use qtips to clean toe nail polish around the nail when I mess up!
much to my husband’s chagrin, I LOVE Q-tips and leave them everywhere! Most commonly, I use them for eye make-up touch-ups. I like to be really thrifty and leave the Q-tip on the bathroom counter after using one end of it during my morning routine. Then the next day, I use the other side to get my make-up in order.
Here’s a truly unusual use: my cat LOVES to bat around Q-tips! She pulls at the cotton and pounces on the sticks as she bats them to and fro!
I like to use Q-tips to clean around my sink drain. My stopper doesn’t come out and I can’t fit the toothbrush I usually use for that type of cleaning. Q-tips fit perfectly under there and clean it very well!
Flossing baby toes, of course! Cleaning my keyboard.
I use them to clean the tiny little parts on the breast pump! And I use them to help apply glue to crafts.
I use Qtips to clean my computer keys and to remove nail polish from the corners of my nails.
Cleaning my keyboard, and cleaning the crevices around faucets.
We use wet q-tips to gently clean the boogies from the edges of my daughter’s stuffy nose. She’s always very congested and the rubbing and wiping from tissues or ‘snot-rags’ irritate her skin.
Flossing baby toes! GENIUS!
Uh, otherwise, I use q-tips for nail polish removal and eyeshadow application. When I used to teach preschool, I had the kids use q-tips as brushes.
My husband taught me to use Q-tips for paint touch up’s. A lot quicker and easier that getting a brush dirty for just a few missed spots.
I’m the WORST at applying mascara, so I use q-tips daily to clean all the extra mascara off of my eyelids. (And I had never thought to use them to clean my keyboard. So smart!)
I use them for cleaning the nooks and crannies of the dishwasher! Where does all that gunk come from??
I have used them for painting with kids as well as with eye makeup remover to get eyeliner off.
I use them for getting nail polish off my skin after I paint my nails. I’m pretty messy with it so it always needs clean-up!
Q-tips work so much better for cleaning out the very front part of my baby’s nose than the sucker bulb thingy (I’m not sticking it way up in there). I know that sounds gross, but it really works!
Awww, such a cute little guy! My son is 4 months old, has eczema, and I use Q-tips to dab ointment on the little scaly patches on his toes, and behind his ears.
Recently, I also used Q-tips to get red nail polish off of my beige microfiber couch (don’t ask!!), using nail polish remover and lots of tedious scrubbing.
I use them to clean my Sonicare Toothbrush head attachment part.
I’m very messy when it comes to putting on mascara, but I don’t worry about getting it all over my eyelids. Q-tips are great for quick-fixing my mascara mess-ups! Waterproof mascara, you say? Oh yeah, just dip your Q-tip in a drop of baby oil. No problem!
I use Q-Tips to remove dripping nail polish from my skin when I’m painting my nails. I also wet them with warm water when I need to gently clean the “morning gunk” out of my baby’s eyelashes.
I work in a child care setting and you wouldn’t belieeeeeve how disgusting the toys get, even in a matter of days. When we’re slow, we will sit there with q-tips and get the most disgusting gunk out of the smallest crevices on toys.
Also, when I get dressed in the morning, as I put on my makeup, I usually give my daughter a qtip for her to put her own makeup on (it usually goes on her belly, haha).
I use them to clean my daughter’s nose. She despise the snot suckers but she doesn’t mind the q-tips. Also, nail polish clean up, both when freshly applied and when finishing a removal.
Put a little bleach on the q-tip and you have a much cheaper version of a Clorax Bleach Pen.
I use Q-tips to clean my keyboard with alcohol. There are so many germs on them, and the Q tip is excellent for getting in the crevices between keys.
I use Q-tips to remove lint from bellybuttons and the sewing machine.
I use q-tips to clean the tile grout in my bathroom
Definitely for nail polish touch up! Aside from ear cleaning, that’s my main use. Oh… and getting boogers out of my baby’s nose.
Love the cleaning baby toes tip! I use them to clean sippy cup valves. There are some parts of the valves that don’t get clean in the dishwasher.
eye make-up remover, nail polish remover, other yucky stuff remover……
I use it as a mascara brush during travels.
Apply medications and ointments to minor cuts and bruises using a Q-tip.
I use Qtips with a little peroxide to clean out the belly button goo in the baby
Also use them for his nose, ears, my mascara blunders and many others!
I use them when I am painting on canvas to give the brush strokes a unique, wispy look.
I use q tips to put on aquaphor every night. My lips and cuticles.
I use them to put on loose powder eye liner (like Bare Escentuals) and regular eye shadow. They’re also great to clean up nail polish off your skin.
I use Q-tips to clean the gunk around the base of the faucet handles in the bathroom.
besides cleaning small and hard to reach areas, q tips are my go-to for “brushes” when applying modge podge to small items
I use them to apply lip balm.
I use them to remove dust from the corners of frames.
I use them for cleaning my electric toothbrush. it’s amazing how gross they get.
They’re great for cleaning my dog’s claws, which accumulate dirt.
