I love this idea! So funny. I’d love to see more photos of this – there must be quite a few “interesting” knitted outfits for babies from well-intentioned grandmothers out there!

My MIL tends to buy stuff for our kiddo that is not my style… so we are trying to redirect her into playing “shoe fairy”. We go as a family to buy the shoes; she gets to see the kiddo, he gets shoes, I have less to take to Goodwill. Everyone wins (except maybe Goodwill…).

@Kate, Actually, when I opened that outfit (the elf above) for my daughter, I thought it was really ugly, but when I put it on, I thought she looked adorable, albeit, not my style. As Heather said, there were a lot of outfits I thought were ugly, but now that my kids are so big, I think anything in a 0-12 month size is adorable.

We received a bunny outfit that has a striking resemblance to the one in “a Christmas Story”…which happens to be my husband’s favorite Christmas movie. Except, the giver has never seen this movie. Fun : )

Most of my sons’ ugliest clothes came from MY mom. She was into appliqued animals all over things, and I preferred to dress my baby boys like mini men. It made it hard to avoid hurt feelings when I never wanted to dress them in her gifts for photos, etc.

as you said, it’s all difference of opinion, but am I the only one here who thinks the first photo in this post (elfin boy) is stinkin’ adorable? Christmas spirit, people! : ) Sometimes hilarious is awesome in my book when it comes to baby clothes, but that’s just me. (Maybe my kids will hate me for it later in life!)

HA! My son’s uncle sent us the most hideous romper ever made. It was name brand but super ugly. It was blue with neon red cowboys hats and neon green horses. Plus it had some super wide hips so it looked like parachute pants. Saddest thing of all, it was not a joke.
