The giveaway is closed but do read about the cute product! The HALO SleepSack, an item used religiously by every woman in my mom’s group, is an example of one of those things you have never heard of until you have your own baby.
Remember the scene on Friends where Rachel opens her baby shower gifts and then begins to cry because she doesn’t know what any of the items are used for?
Katherine: It’s a diaper genie.
Rachel: Oh, it dispenses clean diapers!
Katherine: No, it’s where you put the dirty ones!
Rachel: Well, that’s gross. Why don’t you just take it outside and throw it in a dumpster?
Mrs. Green: Well, are you going to do that ten times a day?
Rachel: It goes ten times a day? What are we feeding this baby, Indian food?
I could see that re-written to incorporate these vest-meets-sleeping bags.
The thing is, for the phase of life in which you need them, they are the perfect solution for keeping baby snuggly warm without the risk of loose blankets. Scarlett and Julian both wore their SleepSacks to bed over their jammies, even as toddlers.
And now, there are so many cute ones to choose from. (Back when my babies were born, there were only solid colors in fleece — and we had to ride dinosaurs to the birthing center in the snow uphill both ways!)
In the SleepSack Swaddle version, a “swaddle band” attached to the wearable blanket allows your baby to be swaddled with arms in, or arms out as a transition out of swaddling.

These new colors and patterns are available at Pottery Barn Kids stores and PBK online. You can add a name or not. (Note: I am personally against monogramming these for hand-me-down logistics reasons.)
Would you like to win FOUR SleepSacks from HALO? Winner receives her choice of sizes and colors.
To enter the random drawing, comment here telling us what your baby sleeps in: swaddle, SleepSack, nothing, or big kid blankets. (On Thursday, March 1, we’ll use a computer to select a commenter who will be able to specify her prize package.)
Huge thanks to HALO for sponsoring the giveaway. Please like them on Facebook if you’d like to be kept up-to-date on their products and safety news for babies.

My little guy sleeps in an “early walker” sleep sack. It’s the one where kiddos can stick their feet out. Man, that thing is silly looking! We’re expecting baby boy #2 in June, so a new package of sleep sacks would be awesome!
we use big girl blankets for our 2 year old….made by grandma!
LOVE sleepsacks. We use them with our baby. We only have one though and are CONSTANTLY washing it. Winning some would be great!
baby isn’t here yet
But i’d love to get my hands on a couple swaddling blankets and a couple sleepsacks, which I’m sure will be better to grow with the baby. They just look so cozy- wish I had an adult sized one right now!
Baby G came a month early! She sleeps in swaddle blankets right now.
Mu 2 year olds sleeps in a toddler Halo. She has been sleeping in a sleep sack since birth. My son was a preemie and spent lots of time in swaddle sleep sacks in the NICU. Right now he sleeps swaddled….but he will use the sleep sacks when her outgrows being swaddled!
i plan on using halo’s to wrap soon to be here baby.
We are transitioning right now from the Swaddleme to the sleep sacks! At 11 weeks, our big baby is getting too strong for that Velcro!
I love the new patterns! Our baby (who is no longer a baby…) used a sleep sack but transitioned pretty quickly to a blanket. This would be great for future babies!
My son sleeps in fleece pj’s with a blanket but I’d prefer to use a sleep sack if I had one that wasn’t fleece.
My 6 month old can’t sleep unless he’s tightly swaddled in either the Summer SwaddleMe, or the Woombie. I would love to transition from the swaddle, and think the Halo sleep sack with swaddle band would be just perfect.
My son sleeps in a SleepSack for naps and blankets at bedtime.
My beautiful bambino uses the swaddles and he loves them! Thanks!
My 6 month old used swaddlers for the first months, and now we are moving in JUST sleep sacks. I would love to win a new cute one!!
Our 4 month old has been using a SleepSack since he was about 6 weeks old and we love them!!!
My almost-three-month-old son is sleeping in a Halo sleep sack as I type this. We let our baby’s gender be a surprise so the one we have is a cream color and it is very soft, lovely, and gender neutral. That said, I’d love a few more colorful sleep sacks for him to grow into.
My little guy just moved from the Miracle Blanket to a sleepsack, because he started waking himself up by trying to Houdini out of the swaddle.
My little Gia sleeps in zip-up sleepers almost every night. She’s a wild sleeper so I have to make sure she is always covered up.
So, I’m sure that we’re not the only ones doing this but since she’s outgrown her SwaddleMe, we use it under her arms as a “blanket”, we could sure up grade to a sleepsack that would be safer, warmer, and more comfy for her, been meaning to get to the store, but between work and her it’s been hard
My baby sleeps in the fleece Footed pjs. So comfy!
Our 2 year old used sleep sacks when she was a baby, but now has a whole collection of blankies to sleep with (and kick off onto the floor). Some new, non pink, ones would be nice for baby brother due this June!
My 14 month old sleeps in a sleep sack and we could really use some more!
Our baby isn’t here yet, but the baby will hopefully sleep in a swaddle at first and then in adorable sleep sacks!
Our son sleeps in a Halo SleepSack every night, and we have only one. It would be amazing to have so many!
My baby Lu sleep in a sleepsack. We have one Halo sleepsack and I made the rest. None are as cute as those, though!
Our first baby is due in July! I’ve heard great things about sleep sacks and would love to get some
My little girl is now in an “early walker” sleep sack. She has been sleeping in a sleep sack since birth!
My baby girl sleeps in a sleep sack now–it’s the only way we can keep covers on her!
my little one has moved on to the blankie – these would be nice in a stash for #2, or for baby shower gifts.
My newborn sleeps in a swaddle blanket at night.
My 5 month old has always used a regular blanket to sleep in. We did receive a sleep sack at my shower but I haven’t used it yet. Maybe we will start, these sound like great products!
My 1 yr old sleeps in a sleepsack and is about to outgrow his. He could really use a new one!
We use a swaddle – it really helped.
Our 20 month old daughter sleeps in fleece footed jammies and two fleece sleepacks (sounds like a lot I know, but we like the house pretty cool at night). I will definitely be using sleepsacks for every kid we have.
Baby girl sleeps in just pajamas but I always feel strange about putting her to bed without a blanket!
My 4 month old is still swaddled although we are trying to transition him out of it. He is not swaddled during his daytime naps but at night he likes to be wrapped up. We use the Swaddle Me sacks but have used and will use again for YEARS the Halo Sleep Sacks. Those things are lifesavers and feel so cozy for the kiddos! Thanks!
She, Sofia, sleeps in a sleep sack.
My two month old daughter, Adeline, wears a fleece
Swaddle sleep sack to bed over a light cotton kimono
undershirt. Though she likes having her arms out, when
she’s having a fussy night, we swaddle her with her arms
in and this soothes her. We love these so much and are
excited to see some cute prints!
We used sleep sacks when my kids were babies. Now they sleep with “blankies”.
Swaddled, all the way!
I used sleep slacks for my older son now that we are expecting our second son..I want to try the sleep sacks with the swaddlers and see if that will keep him asleep longer.. my older son was such a light sleeper I hope I get lucky with my second one
Both my littles sleep in SleepSacks. I love ‘em!
big kid blankets!
my son never liked his hands and arms tucked in at night so i laid him on a blanket and pulled it over him and under his arms.
now he throws them off entirely!
Haven’t had my baby yet, due June 4th. However i am in love with sleep sacks. I used them when I was a nanny and they were wonderful. I will definitely be using them for my little guy when he arrives.
sleep sack!
Right now our baby sleeps in my belly.
I’ve heard the BEST things about these, and would love to have some for our little nugget.
Oh, I so desperately need SleepSacks! I’ve been eyeing them. My baby is half the time sleeping in whatever she had on when she went to sleep in the swing or elsewhere, for fear that our disturbing her will wake her up! Last night: a long-sleeve shirt, dress, and leggings!! :;
adorable! my 2 year old slept in fleece swaddlers as a baby, but that was in winter time…baby number two is due in june and will need something lightweight, like this perfect Halo sleep sack!
My little one sleeps in a sleep sack. Love them!
I love the sleep sack swaddles!
