I'm nervous to start my new job as a pre-school teacher and bring more germs home! ick!

I completely, completely understand. It is very difficult to balance being a working professional and a mother. You are doing a wonderful job and I am incredibly glad that I stumbled upon this website tonight!

I appreciate you putting a voice to my guilt. I work part-time also but people think you bail on meetings intentionally. I just want to scream " I really want to be a good employee" but it isn't easy to do that when careers are so demanding.

Having newborn twins in group care + one full-time working mom + one full-time working dad who also travels for work 2-5 days a week = the reason we are never having more children.

That first cold and flu season in group care kicked our butts like nothing else. I could handle two working parents. I could handle my husband traveling. But two sick babies on top of it was horrible. And they caught EVERYTHING. At least they caught it at the same time!

Now at 3 they have immune systems of champs. But we averaged almost $200/month in co-pays the first year! We talked a lot about getting a nanny or working part-time but we just powered through because there was never going to be a good time for the kids to get sick.

(Also can I mention no sleeping when both babies are sick all the time?)
