Oh my goodness. Thank you SO much for sharing this story – it was the first time I’ve had a good belly laugh today! I am a total rookie mom (my baby boy is 7 weeks old) and it’s so easy to get overly stressed out about…oh you know, everything. It makes me feel so much better knowing that other moms are experiencing the same challenges – and that it gets better in the future! -Laura

Wow I pretty much grew up in the neighborhood pool. My siblings and I were there before it opened and stayed until after dark.
I am about to have my first child and ohhh I am nervous. I am so glad I found your blog to help me with the details of my son’s first swim next summer!

I just happened upon your site and love it! Though I am past the age of childbearing, I do have grandchildren and find your site full of wonderful tips and ideas for young mothers. I am to soon be a grandmother again. My first granddaughter is on the way and I will surely pass your site on to my daughter for great insights on being a mom. Keep up the good work!

I was a “pool rat” in my younger years too, so I can definitely relate here! I have to say, timing and planning really do play such an important role in how “well” (relatively) new experiences can go for both parents and kids. Then again, knowing is half the battle, hence round 2 with Anneliese was a pure success! Anyway, it’s nice to know that 2 more swimmers are enjoying the summer with Mom…cheers to pool-side fun in the sun!
