Activity #462: Download this veteran mom’s knowledge

by Whitney

Kirsten, a clever, crafty, and experienced mom, has made a booklet of her tips for new mommies available for download as PDFs.

She even has a cover that she herself embellished with a button to make it look adorable and handcrafted. She’s shared her booklet, Things I Wish I’d Known, with you in whichever format floats your boat. She encourages you to keep it for yourself or to make a nice version of the cover and give it as a gift.

The last page is blank, so you can add your own tips if you are passing it along.

Kirsten says: I’m not trying to proclaim myself a parenting expert at all, but I consider myself a fairly well-informed parent and I think that many of these tips would be useful to new parents. You know how it is, you finally find something that works and you think “If only we’d known that before!” (Hence the title.)

I’m a first time preggo who just entered the second trimester and had a moment of panic trying to make sure I knew what I needed to get done before this baby arrives. My best friend suggested your website and I love it! Lots of good ideas, great registry list, and I am sure that “Things I Wish I Had Known” will come in very handy! Thanks very much for hosting this site and doing such a great job!

I can’t believe you would recommend this!!! I’ve had a great time checking out your site and finding great things to do then I saw this….like the third thing she recommends is letting your tiny, trusting, unable to do for themself baby lay and cry scared that it’s parents (who are supposed to care for him/her) have abandonded them!! Sure they quit crying, because they learn no one cares or will help them even if they do!! Please read this and realize that this woman is giving terrible recommendations to women who many not know better, and remove this post, her link, or atleast post a disclaimer that this is BAD ADVISE!
