We recently started working with the founder of Citrus Lane to help get the word out about their new service. I’m (no-longer-secretly) hoping that when my baby comes, she’ll give me my own gift subscription! Each month, mom receives an age-appropriate box of goodies starting at the baby shower or any month afterward. It’s like a CSA or wine-of-the-month-club for babies.
In their own words:
Citrus Lane is all about introducing parents to the baby products recommended most by real moms and dads. We fill our monthly boxes with 4 or 5 baby products along with helpful parenting tips and tricks. Each box is tailored specifically to your child’s age and stage, from newborn up to 18 months. The combined retail value of the products ranges from $30-40, so it’s always a great deal.
Want to win a 3-month subscription?
Share the wisdom of your experience. Tell us in the comments what awesome product you discovered after seeing another parent use it. For a second bonus entry, give a little LIKE to Citrus Lane on Facebook and comment again that you did.
On Friday July 29th, we will select a random winner. Cost of a 3-month subscription is $75 and included items are valued up to $120. Prize to be delivered to U.S. residents only, beginning at whatever month you choose.

We are consultants to Citrus Lane compensated for our time. And we like the boxes. And I wish I could win this contest.

A friend of mine turned me on to the baby food pouches- PLUM, HAPPY BABY, etc. They are the best. They are super convenient and easy when you are on the go. My son still loves them at 15 months.
I saw someone using an amber teething necklace on her little boy, and I immediately bought one for mine. I love that thing!

Definitely my Sleep Sheep. A friend got one at a baby shower, and the other women there were raving about it. I ordered my own Sleep Sheep for my then 8-week old, and she still uses at nearly 2 to drown out city traffic and rowdy neighbors. And it’s still on its first set of batteries!
I am currently 6 months pregnant with my first child so unfortunatley I don’t have any real life advice to give but I was recently told about a baby carried called the Baby Hawk that is supposed to be amazing and so much better than all the other carriers out there!
a binky strap/grip. A friend used one for the paci and then later when her kiddo was older as a strap for toys. Genius! I’ll be doing that with my new little one!

Aden + Anais swaddle blankets and sleep sacks. The fabric is great.
We love Aden & Anais muslin swaddle blankets. We were using other blankets but when made the switch it was like night and day. My baby slept soundly and for longer periods of time. Just purchased another set for our upcoming arrival due in a few months.
I’m a month away from my due date, so no real life experience yet, but am looking forward to testing out a number of products I’ve heard great things about.

Ergo. Seriously. I didn’t want to shell out a lot of money for a baby carrier so I thought I would just use a Baby Bjorn and a ring sling. That worked until my son was three months old, and 13 pounds. Then my shoulders and back started killing me, and I strained a muscle in my tummy (post c-section) which made me bed ridden for a couple of days. Next day I went out and got an Ergo – and we still use it quite a bit, now that DS is 15 months and 26 pounds!
a Miracle Blanket! My son broke out of all other swaddles. Someone told me about the Miracle Blanket and suddenly we were getting 8 straight hours of sleep. Truly a miracle.
A dear friend gave me an Aden & Anais swaddle blanket to swaddle in hot weather. It just gets softer the more you wash it. Love it!

Sophie the giraffe. My daughter loves it!

Definitely the BOB jogging strollers. I know that sounds weird, but I really thought “what’s the point” but after seeing so many moms in the mall, at the park, etc with them, I got one. It’s amazing. SO easy to maneuver and my husband loves it, which is a plus.
I think I will only be using a jogging stroller from now on.
aden + anais swaddlers!!!
Our Beco carrier – great for walks or getting things done around the house, and the baby loves it!
I use the pacifier with the stuffed duck attached to it after seeing my sister-in-law using one for her son. It’s great!
I am 7 months pregnant with my first but thanks to some friends who are already moms I registered for the aden and anais swaddle wraps. Seems like a popular item in the comments! I didn’t know that most receiving blankets are too small to swaddle with so that was useful advice.
I love my stroller – it’s the City Elite from Babyjogger. It’s light, folds flat and has great wheels to handle the rough areas we walk.
Definitely the Moby wrap. I had only read about them and never got one with my son (although I did use a Hotsling) and then I saw a mom carrying her baby in one somewhere between Gabi and Meike. I didn’t have to buy much when Meike was born because everyone gave us all their leftover baby girl stuff, so I splurged and got a Moby ASAP, and it is still awesome

Boo Boo Buddy Ice Packs for Kids. My son wouldn’t keep an ice pack on at all until a friend lent us her Boo Boo Buddy.

A fold up travel potty for my older toddler! The legs unfold down to use if you are somewhere without a bathroom or fold up to ccover a public toilet!
I would have to say the fabulous gauze swaddling blankets..they are amazing.
A convertible double stroller that goes from a tandum double stroller to a sit ‘n stand! Easy to change for whatever the day ahead holds! And the ergo carrier. Easy to use, plus if need be I can still carry my almost 4 year old in it!
Domeboro astringent solution for bad diaper rash! That stuff is like MAGIC! Mix up some warm water with the power, dip a cloth diaper in it, apply to baby’s bottom for awhile — swear, it completely erases the rash. Love it!
Ergo, for sure. I’m also pretty fond of Mama Mantras cards.
This service looks great!
A fellow mom pulled out Zo-li Gummy Stick Baby Gum Massagers for her daughter the other day. I just had my second child and will be buying these as soon as my little guy starts teething. The wand makes it easy to hold and the anti-choke shield keeps the tip from touching the ground if it’s dropped.
I liked Citrus Lane on FB. I LOVE the idea of these boxes!
I can’t even count the items I have used because another mom tells me it is great! I trust this source of info more than anything, I am sure. Some items I can think of are sophie the giraffe, maclaren stroller, baby ktan carrier, and there are many more that I can’t think of because I am sleep deprived.
The sleepy wrap! After seeing a friends baby so content snuggled in with mom I had to have one too!

LOVE, love, love my Ergo. Can’t leave home without it. Also really enjoyed and look forward to using again our Swaddle Me wrap sacks. It helped my 2 children sleep through the night really easily!
A friend told me that the best socks are those from BabyGap- so I got some and wow was she right! They actually stay on!
We saw the puj tub in use and quickly bought one too! It’s so convenient!
Someone told me about the Dunstan Baby Language DVD and we rented it. It was awesome and showed us that our daughter had gas and needed to be burped more.

Couldn’t live without my Moby wrap in the beginning.
My friend had Sophie the Giraffe and my son wanted it so badly. I made sure to get one for my second baby!
I’d have to say the babycook from williams sonoma. I want one so bad! They are amazingly convenient for making your own baby food! Thanks!
Triple roll socks from Target and/or Old Navy. I’m sure other places have them too. They were the best and never fell off my son’s feet. Once he was old enough to pull them off, that was a different story, but when he was an infant they were the only ones he couldn’t kick off. We’ll be using them for his baby brother too, who just arrived 2 weeks ago!
The Baby Bjorn Plastic Bib. Great food catcher and easy to clean!

And I have to second the comment I just read about Sophie the Giraffe. My older son had one, well still does actually, and still pulls it out to play with it. The new baby will be getting one of his own in a few months, when we’re closer to teething.
