Put away the maternity pants and take yourself out to Old Navy to get some interim jeans to make you feel normal. Go with a girlfriend you trust. Don’t look at the size, just find something flattering and comfortable.
DO NOT THINK ABOUT OR TALK ABOUT THE WEIGHT YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE IN THE FUTURE. Buy jeans to wear this week. When the day comes, you can put these in storage for the next time around, give them to a friend who is a few months behind you, or wear them when you paint that mural you’ve been talking about.

I whole heartedly agree with this one. I bought some “post-pregnancy” jeans after the birth of my first. It is such a self-esteem booster to not have your gut spilling out of your pants. You will feel less fat wearing jeans that fit well to your current body shape.
Can you believe I did this just 3 days before your post? I got the Old Navy Sweetheart jeans and it looks like they’ve embraced vanity sizing. I was able to buy a size 8…with a gut that might get strangers asking me if #3 is on her way.
They’ve also got some cute trapeze tops that are very forgiving of tummy bulge.

What a great blog – I’m glad I found you! I have a feeling these tidbits are going to come in really handy in another 4-6 weeks.
I listened to this challenge as I was returning to work, and used the Macy’s giftcard my coworkers gave me to treat myself to a pair of Lucky jeans. Best purchase I ever made. I still feel fabulous every time I put them on!
I’m going to have to put off this challenge for a couple of weeks but I love it. I’ve been living in yoga pants after the first 5months postpartum. Its time to attempt jeans. And stop trying on all of my old jeans and becoming a sobbing mess on the floor when I can’t get them over my bum, LOL.
@Manda, just do it. Don’t splurge on the new fancy jeans, just buy a pair from Old Navy or H&M and zip your pants for a change. You can do it!
This is such a great idea! With baby #3, the weight just WAS NOT coming off like it had for the twins. I went to Old Navy at about month 4 and got some ‘interim’ jeans…perfect description!
Good news is that the old jeans fit again:)
I got some new post-baby jeans – but they had to be maternity due to Irish Twin #2′s future arrival. BUT they are so much better than my maternity jeans from last year, in that they are A SIZE SMALLER! Woot! Sure, there’s no zipper, but a new pair of jeans is like a whole makeover!
