Meeting you two was one of the highlights of my BlogHer weekend. I love that you're smart, quick, committed and super fun. Gina told me over lunch that you mentioned us and I howled because I was actually wearing what is, for me, a tremendous amount of make-up. ;) One of the things I love about BlogHer is seeing all the incarnations of beauty in American women. Depending on our community and location we make such different choices.

We must get together when I'm in SF for the Food BlogHer!

I'm with on so many of your points! What a great post! I totally agree with you about the Ragu lunch. Next year I'd love a lunch by Rick Bayless that features pork. I was front row for his Friday demo and he was fantastic. So nice and food that was out of this world!

What a lovely, thoughtful and accurate (at least for me) review of the event. I agree with all your points from meeting wonderful people, having real conversations, the embarrassing swag situations to the food served, lack of sleeping in and your thoughts on the panel sessions.

My memories of this event are special, mostly because of the many real and authentic friendships made. I'm so glad we were able to meet in-real-life. Before BlogHer, you lovely ladies were the Rookie Moms to me (still totally awesome though!). Now you're my friends, Whitney and Heather. And even more awesome!

Angel, I have sent you a private email. Thank you for setting me straight. I edited this post and I reframed the note about "SwagHags" so that it is clearer that I was not name-calling the particular women in the elevator. I apologize for having written it this way to begin with.

Agreed, agreed and agreed, The best part of the Ragu lunch was the salad, I too noticed the water pressure at the hotel was excellent and I love me some Method. It was great meeting you too! I'm so glad I did.

I loved your post, until I got to your Swag Hag reference. I was in that elevator. It was about ten, ten thirty at night on the last night and the only party left was the CheeseburgHer Party, which clearly doesn't have swag. So, who was talking about getting more swag, and where did they think they were going to get it? As far as I recall, what happened was more along the lines of me asking about a doll I saw someone carrying. I didn't receive one, (that is not a complaint-it is a statement), so I was curious about what it was. The girl showed me and told me there weren't any bags left by the time she got there, so a friend gave her the doll they got earlier in the night, (also a statement, not a complaint). I hardly see how that conversation could be interpreted the way you described. Perhaps I missed a conversation that was going on at the same time, but if not and you mean the conversation I had with that young lady, I don't think your account is a fair representation at. all.
