sings E-I-E-I-O.
The cutest thing my baby did that i didn’t catch on video was crawl around the house military man style so he could lay on top of the kitty.
My 7-month-old daughter, Daisy, recently was chewing on a toy while I was playing with her on the floor. She chewed for a bit, then reached up and put it in my mouth for me to chew on, then back to her mouth, then back to mine. She has done this once or twice since, but I don’t think I’ll ever get it on video because, like most babies, when she sees something shiny (like a camera) she is instantly distracted.
P.S. I can’t wait to see “Babies”!
My son loves to blow kisses, but eveytime the camera comes out, he tries to wrangle it from us, so all those cut moments are lost! We’ve thought about rigging the house up Big Brother style, but we’re just not that technically inclined.
her first taste of lemon/lime. she picks up the lemons to suck on and has a horrible look on her face, but just can’t resist putting it back in her mouth — over and over again
Crawling – I love her little face when she was inching towards me.
Trying to walk…those very first attempts that ended in plopping down diaper first!
I’m still hoping to catch this on video but my baby(20 months) tries to zerbet my stomach but can’t quite do it, so she puts her mouth on my tummy and groans. It’s hilarious and makes me laugh, so she keeps doing it!
I am torn between 2: lately, when Miles nurses, he likes to blow raspberries on my massive bosom. We have just never felt like we should video tape that, but it’s darn cute! Also, this weekend, Miles, our 9-month-old, finally learned to clap his hands. He giggled and clapped and squealed and we didn’t catch it on video. Hopefully, though, he will keep on clapping and we’ll get it eventually.
The cutest thing my baby did that I didn’t catch on video is yell at the dogs to stop barking. I guess I yell at the dogs a lot.
My niece does exercises with a rubber band, stretching it out to imitate her mom and dad with their resistance bands. She even grunts! It’s hilarious to watch.
my baby laughed and we cant seem to get her to do it on video!
I don’t get the Flip out as often as I should…but the one thing I wish I would have captured was the pure look of JOY in his eyes at his first round of swim lessons. So sweet.
I found my son David (9months old at the time) surrounded on our bed (it is a mattress on the floor since we co-sleep) with a pile of his toys. I could not figure out how he had done it until one day I found him in action with a toy in his mouth and a toy in each hand he would crawl onto the bed drop it off and repeat until his desired amount of toys were surrounding him.
When my son was little he used to do this giggle/eyebrow raise/grin thing that made everybody swoon. Impossible to catch on camera but I will always remember it!
I wish I could somehow have captured those moments when my daughter fell asleep in my arms when she was tiny, but it’s not really something a camera can capture. Little did I know then that those moments were so fleeting! She’s perpetual motion at almost 17 months old. Fortunately we catch lots of her antics on video, but the quiet moments are much harder to “capture.”
the cutest thing my baby does is when he gets scared and starts to cry… he has just the cutest bottom lip that juts out and his whole face squishes up right before he starts crying. it is to-die-for cute.
I have some great video of my son singing “Twinkle Twinkle Twinkle (little star)” at about 18 months. He loves to “sing” so all his musical videos are my favorite.
That sounds like a “made to order” baby shower gift for a baby shower I’m attending the day before Mother’s Day– if I gave the mom-to-be that, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind it being late.
We have nothing caught on video except for some first steps and M bouncing in a jumper. I wish I could have captured his “kisses” though… BIG, open mouthed smooches. So sweet.
Interacting with her brother. As soon as she sees him she lights up, but I have yet to get it on camera. She may never believe me when she’s older and they fight all the time.
Last week we brought home our fourth baby from the hospital. The cutest thing I have caught on camera so far is my “other” baby, my 14-month-old daughter, making lovey eyes at her new baby brother–precious!
My son used to grab pencils and sing/drum along to “I was made for loving you” by KISS. He know all the intro beats and the solo and the very last beats and he would surround himself with pillows to be his drums. And I didn’t record it. Whoops.
My 19m old son, Zach, says “bye mama!” to me in the morning when I leave for work, so one morning, I told him bye, he returned his usual “bye mama!”, after that I didn’t leave right away because I started talking to my husband about something, then when I was *actually* leaving, I told Zach “bye!”, he says “bye, again!” And of course I think, there’s no way I heard him right, so I say “bye Zach!”, and he goes “bye A-GAIN!!!”
Laughing uproariously at my hiccups!
These are so fun! I love watching our video of our then twelve month old help Papa mop the floor. It went something like this: bump into the bucket of soapy water. Dip rag. Take a big, slurpy bite. (Gross!) Swish around on floor. Dip into bucket. Repeat. He was so happy to be helping Daddy! Hmm. I think half the cuteness in this video was actually watching Daddy do chores!
I unfortunately did not catch my baby’s first steps on video, but I did catch a few later that day…it was so funny! He’s still stumbling around like a drunken sailor.
When my son was 8 months old he was petting one of our chihuahuas, then he grabbed two handfulls of the dog’s skin, leaned got a huge grin, leaned over and bit the dog. Saracen jumped up, spun around and started licking my son’s face. Good dog. Wish we had it on video.
Cutest thing he does that we missed on video was scream like a pterodactyl when his dad walked in the room.
I wish I’d caught my son (20 months old at the time) rapidly feeding a salad to my brother (23 years old at the time!) while we were on vacation. It was a hysterical family dinner and I wish I could enjoy it over and over again!
My daughter, Katie, casually reached down and popped something into her mouth one afternoon as we stepped outside. She was 1 year old and everything went into her mouth for a complete exploration. I immediately asked her to open her mouth, and she adamantly refused! I gave her a sip of water and asked her to spit it out, and out came the legs of a June bug! Ugh!!!
She “winks”… more like she blinks. But totally cute!
Oh, pick me!!
I didn’t catch the 25 or so baby signs that my daughter was so good at before she grew out of the baby sign phase.
It’s so sweet when my 13 month old lays her head down on my lap and looks up into my eyes with a sheepish grin as if to say, “i love you mommy.” i haven’t captured that on video, but it’s definitely a memory keepsake moment. Oh, and I just read another mama’s comment about baby signs. so sweet–wish i could capture those on video too–love the tiny movements she makes to sign “bird” these days.
Run around the house yelling “tickle me!”
The thing that I wish I caught on video was my son (20 months) sitting in his highchair with the hick-ups. He would hick-up, then laugh. As soon as he would calm down from laughing, he would hick-up again and start laughing again. It went on forever but when I pulled out the camera, he stopped and just smiled and said “cheeeeeese”.
The angry trilling noise she did when she was around 6 months. She only did it for a few weeks and I think my husband and I were laughing too hard to remember to grab the camera!
My baby girl tilts her head to the side to look at us with the cutest curious face, It’s like an owl or a flamingo or something. But every time it makes me smile.
it’s simple – but the BEST
it’s when my 5 month old babe looks into my eyes… deep into my eyes – and time stands still – …… and then she smiles…. and we’ve shared a connection that can’t be caught on video… it’s those moments that melt my heart – and they have cute written all over them.
I’m a photographer, so we have TONS of still photographs, but very little video. We have barely anything on video. Gosh, I wish we had video of her early stages of walking. Sigh.
my 7 month old has learned to blow bubbles/make buzzing sound with his lips…haven’t caught it on video yet.
i just blogged about your giveaway–see the link below:

(sorry, i didn’t know how to edit my first comment to add this, so i posted a second one)
My seven month old grabbed the cat’s tail- and wouldn’t let go. She walked away, and pulled him down in the process. It surprised him, and was pretty funny to watch.
My baby does this tiny wave that is sooo cute. He’s too fascinated with the camera for me to get it on video. It’s adorable!
The cutest thing my 2yo daughter has done is pinch her face into a wide grin and say ” I love you so, much!”
I wish I could capture Noah rolling from his back to his front – he still manages to do it at lightening speed when I am out of the room for a second. I have no idea what method he uses but at that speed he probably stands up and lays down again (LOL he is 7 months old!)
My little guy will be 10 months old next week but he has already learnt to climb on his battery operated motorcycle and knows how to push the button with his toes to make it go, he holds on pretty good and hasn’t fallen off -we watched him crawl on to it the other day push the button with his toes and go-we were both so shocked neither of us thought to grab the video-we were scared he was going to drive straight over the dog and fall off.
My daughter is 8 months old. When she was about 4 months old, she said (plain as day), “Lou” and reached for the dog (his name is Louis).
My husband and I both heard it and were astonished. Sadly, she hasn’t said it since.
I’m determined to get this on camera before she starts saying it correctly, but my daughter just started saying her own name — she says it all the time, but my favorite is when she points to the necklace I always wear that has her name on it. She’s pointed to it for months and months, and I always tell her “It says Brooklyn!” and now when she points to it, she says “Brooklie!!!!” So cute!:)
My 18 month old got in our bathroom cabinet and found a spare contact case. He sees us putting in our contacts all the time, so he unscrewed the lid and put his finger in the well and then put his finger near his eye as if he were putting on his contacts. Kids sure are observant!
My daughter sings the alphabet, but of course, sings it incorrectly. it is still the cutest thing!!
