I agree, @Brooklyn. I didn’t understand the leap to “crappy mom” from a baby who can say Bye-Bye! I guess our own baggage colors everything we see our kids doing.

I don’t think you realize that moms always tell their babies to say Bye to people when they leave. It is kind of the first social interaction term they learn. Do you think that maybe you have been teaching your son lately to say Hello and Bye? “say bye bye”… wave hand “say hello”… wave hand

We always are so quick to judge ourselves! It’s funny that you read that reaction as being “a crappy mom” when everyone else is reading it as you being a wonderful loving mom who kisses him goodbye.
